41 weeks

Pregnancy Highlights:
How Far Along: 41 Weeks
Size of baby: Baby Jay is over 20 inches and 8+ lbs.

Total Weight Gain/Loss: 51 lbs.

Maternity Clothes: Mostly pants.

Gender: Boy!

Movement: Yup! You can make out his feet sometimes and also his knees.

Sleep: It's been pretty good.

What I miss:Margarita's, my skinny jeans, running, getting off the couch, not feeling tired all the time.

Cravings: Fruit, steak, sweets.

Symptoms:Contractions here and there, but nothing that's doing anything.

Best Moment this week:Another good doc appt and knowing there will be an end soon.

At my appt, baby was doing well. His heartbeat was 150. I'm dilated to a 4 and still 80% effaced. I had another non-stress test and he did ok. There will be an end soon! ;)

Miss Lyla was helping out with my bump pictures tonight! They are a little outta focus with our point and shoot, but they'll work. Lyla was showing off her bump too! ;)

Difference

I thought I'd want to remember this some day... so here are some likes and differences between my pregnancies.

Lyla:
Waaaay sick. I was a puking unit until about 18 weeks and I gagged over everything from about 13 weeks to 18 weeks.
Had horrible food aversions, barely ate much, but did love mashed potatoes.
Had crazy, vivid dreams in the first trimester (hello babies heads floating in water... yes crazy)
Barely had any heartburn.
Craved fruity stuff and swiss cakes rolls.
Heart rate ranged from the 130's to 15o's.
Got a chipmunk face!
Belly grew more from side to side in the hip area.
Felt miserable most of the pregnancy.
Gained 33 lbs.

Baby Jay
Sick and tired until about 13 weeks. Only gagged about everything until 15 weeks.
Was starving during the first trimester and ate everything I could...esp mashed potatoes.
Have had horrible heartburn and indigestion.
Craved steak and fruit.
Did not get a chipmunk face this time! :)
Heart rate ranged from 140's - 130's
Belly grew mostly straight out.
Gained 51+ lbs
Horrible hip and pubic bone pain.
Much happier this pregnancy.

I'm sure there are more, but these are just a few comparisons!

40 weeks

Happy Due Date, Baby!

How Far Along: 40 Weeks
Size of baby: Baby Jay is about the size of a small pumpkin, about 7 1/2 -8 lbs and 20-21 inches long. He'll gain about a 1/2 ounce to an ounce a day.

Total Weight Gain/Loss: 50 lbs

Maternity Clothes: Mostly pants.

Gender:Sweet boy.

Movement:Yes, but it's slowing down.

Sleep:I actually sleep really well.

What I miss:Margarita's, my skinny jeans, working out, getting off the couch easily.

Cravings: Fruit, flavored ice. sweets

Symptoms:Pubic bone pain, contractions here and there.

Best Moment this week: Making it full term.

At my appt today, Baby Jay's heartbeat was 140 and I'm measuring at 40 weeks. Unfortunately, I didn't have any change in my cervix. Still a 3-4 and 80% effaced. I was really hoping to be a good 4, but that's ok. I had to do a non-stress test, which he finally passed. It took a while as he was a sleepy thing. If I don't have him this week, I go back next Monday. I think my doc thought I'd be having him this week. Sean thinks that as well. I really don't know what I think as I thought I would have had him last week. He'll come when he's good and ready! :) My babies must love my uterus! :)

Overall, the worst thing about the pregnancy has been the heat. Today it was only 73 degrees this morning when I was in town and it didn't wear my out at all. When it's 103 degrees and I'm out and about, I get worn out quick! So, as long as I stay relatively cool, I'll be good as well wait and see when this baby decides it should be his birthday.

39 weeks - AKA 7 days

Pregnancy Highlights:

How Far Along: 39 Weeks

Size of baby: Baby Jay is around 7 lbs or more and about the size of a mini watermelon. He's about 20 inches. This is roughly the size of Lyla at 41 weeks, when I was induced but they thought she measured more like 39 or 40 weeks.

Total Weight Gain/Loss: 49 lbs.The question now is not when will he come, but will I hit 50 lbs! :)

Maternity Clothes: Mostly pants and some shirts

Gender: Boy!

Movement: Yup, but he's got to be running out of room!

Sleep:It isn't horrible, but I'm ready for 8 hours of sleep again! :) So probably 7 months from now! Unless he's a better sleeper then his sister.

What I miss:Margarita's, my skinny jeans, bending over easily and getting off the couch easily.

Cravings: Water, sweets,

Symptoms:I think I've been having some real contractions here and there and I also lost my mucous plug last Tuesday. I'm not swelling much at all but my pubic bones and hips still hurt along with some back pain.

Best Moment this week: Just making it to 39 weeks! Almost done! 7 days

I had my appt today and all is well. His heartbeat was 136 and I'm measuring at 39 weeks. I'm also dilated to a good 3-4 and 80% effaced. He also stripped my membranes so hopefully he feels like he is ready to come out sometime this week!

--------------

I also wanted to post about some of the stuff I've made Little Brother.
Here's the burp rags. 3 of them are embroidered and the rest are just fabric. I love em!

And here is his blanket. It's also embroidered in one corner. I LOVE how it turned out!So now I'm just waiting for him to come!!! It's kinda nerve-racking waiting for it to happen! I pretty much think about it constantly which makes the waiting game harder!

July 29, 2011

Tired

I'm becoming tired of being tired. Honestly, this pregnancy seems easy compared to Lyla's. I've actually enjoyed it. Which is shocking because I didn't enjoy being pregnant with Ly. Now if only I wasn't pregnant during the summer, and this would be smooth sailing.

But my body is starting to fail me and I'm tired. Even if I sleep 10 hours, I'm tired. If I nap I'm tired. If I don't nap, I'm tired. Get the point?

So, dear baby. This is your eviction notice. You must come out no later than Sunday. I'd love a July baby! Please obey your mother, because your sister sure didn't!

Love you already... and will love you more if you come this weekend.

Mommy

Still pregnant

Not to much going on around here. I'm still very much pregnant and very much getting worn out! But other than that, I can't complain. I stay far far far away from the heat! Unless I'm in the pool! :) I still feel relatively good, I just tire pretty quickly! I also lost my mucous plug Tuesday, so I know it shouldn't be anymore than 2 weeks! :) Hopefully less!

I finished up my last photography session today. But I had another person ask about pictures, so I might give in. I'm not good at saying no! :)

I've been in a huge sewing mode and have made quite a few things! :) Lyla's gotten a few new skirts with matching bows, of course. Baby Jay now has about 10 burp rags, a few pacifier clips, a few custom onesies and his blanket. I'll do a post on it all soon of what I've made him! Super cute stuff, of course!

I managed to get some of Lyla's 2 year pictures done today! And she even semi cooperated so that was nice. I have one more outfit to do pictures in and then I'm done for 6 months! :) But a cute little boy will be making his presence and will soon have the camera in his face every month! :)

Looking forward to the weekend. We have 2 benefits to attend and then Baby Jay can come!!!! And hopefully he listens!

July 25, 2011

Nesting

Sean thinks I'm nesting. I don't. I just want things done. Now. Especially after finding out I am already 2-3 centimeters dilated I feel rushed to get things done. I really expected to go late, and I still surely can, but I'm thinking he'll probably be on time or my guess would be next week. Who knows, definitely a waiting game.

Anyways, we just installed the car seats Sunday, but that night all I dreamed about was where the car seats are placed. And then I woke up at 5:30 am thinking about it. And almost went out and changed it, but I didn't. I have the Graco myride in my car and I LOVE it, but it's really bulky with the 2 cup holders. And I want to have Lyla in the middle and Baby Jay on the side, leaving the other side seat open. This way if we need to use the 3rd row we can easily get to it and if someone else rides with us, there will still be a place for them to sit. Anyways, after installing it that way, Lyla's car seat makes it pretty impossible to get the side seat folded up to get into the 3rd row. It's doable, but def. takes effort. Well it's bugging me, so last night we were supposed to install the Britax car seat that we have in his vehicle but we never got around to it. So it will be done today! And then my brain can stop thinking about this! Silly stuff.

Yesterday I also decided that the carpets needed cleaned asap. So Sean picked up a cleaner and we switched on and off with cleaning the carpets. And they look oh.so.much better. We also sold my old computer desk in my craft room, so I'll be organizing that today to have better use of the space. My photography props are taking over. I also feel like we have clutter EVERYWHERE and so I want to get that under control. It really isn't that bad, but my pregnancy hormones are making me feel like it is. I also need/want to finish up a KU skirt for Lyla to wear with one of her shirts I had embroidered. And then there are 3 burp rags I want to finish up as well. And then, maybe, I'll feel like things are ready to go. Hopefully he won't come until next week because I have a few shoots left this week and then we have Sean's cousin's benefit on Friday and Max's benefit on Saturday. Then he is free to come!

I was also reading back on my blog and at about this same time 2 years ago, I felt the need to clean the carpets. But that time, my momma did it for me. And I also read about a million times that I was miserable and luckily this time, I'm not. This pregnancy is actually pretty smooth sailing and I've enjoyed it much more then when I was pregnant with Lyla! Only 13 more days!

Well I"m off to clean some more! :)

38 weeks

Pregnancy Highlights:

How Far Along: 38 Weeks

Size of baby: Baby Jay is a little over 6.5 lbs and more than 19 inches.... like a leek.

Total Weight Gain/Loss: 48 lbs.

Maternity Clothes:A mixture of both

Gender: A sweet boy!

Movement:He's slowing down a bit...must be getting a bit cramped in there!

Sleep:I've moved to the couch as I'm much, much more comfy on there then in bed. I have been getting up early as well.

What I miss:Margarita's, my skinny jeans, bending over and getting off the couch easily!

Cravings: fruity stuff, water, sweets

Symptoms:Lots and lots of braxton hicks contractions but no signs of real contractions. Pubic bones hurt horribly!

Best Moment this week: The car seat is installed!

I had my appt this morning and baby jay is doing great. HB was 124 and I'm dilated 2-3 and starting to thin out. Which means, baby jay could be coming any time! :) At this time with Lyla I was a fingertip dilated/1. I actually was a 2 whenever I was induced with her! So now we play the waiting game!!

July 18, 2011

37 weeks

I had my appt today and all is good. The belly is measuring at 36.5 weeks and his heartbeat was 136. I go back in a week and then he'll check to see if I'm dilated at all! :) 20 more days... or so. I'm not too worried about when he comes. I'm actually being a bit patient! :) We have a bunch going on until the 31st and after that he's free to come! :)

Maternity Pics

Yesterday we had a friend take some pictures for us to remember this time as a family of 3. Hearing that makes this mama kinda sad. I'm super excited to add Baby Jay to our family, but its still hard since Lyla's been our one and only for the last 2 years.

I was super excited for our pictures and had a few ideas in mind. Um... fail. I thought Miss Ly would be cooperative but that was a big negative. I tried to get a few pictures for her birthday invites and that was a HUGE fail. At least Sean was cooperative... for the most part.:) We headed to the RR tracks here in Victoria for our session. Overall, I love how they turned out. I don't feel near as chunky or unattractive like I did being pregnant with Lyla. Must be the boy... thanks son! :)

July 11, 2011

36 weeks!

Pregnancy Highlights:
How Far Along: 36 Weeks
Size of baby: Baby Jay is almost 6 lbs and more than 18 1/2 inches.... like a crenshaw melon.

Total Weight Gain/Loss: 45-46 lbs. Yikes! Oh well, just a few more weeks of gaining and then I'll finally be losing!

Maternity Clothes:A mixture of both

Gender: A sweet boy! At least, I'm hoping he's sweet! :)

Movement:He's slowing down a bit...must be getting a bit cramped in there!

Sleep:I've moved to the couch as I'm much, much more comfy on there then in bed.

What I miss:Margarita's, my skinny jeans, bending over and getting off the couch easily!

Cravings: fruity stuff, water, sweets

Symptoms:I'm starting to be in pain more throughout my pubic bones and hips. As in, if I've been sitting for a while and get up, I can barely walk. It's a great look! :) I also tire SO easily.

Best Moment this week:Getting a bunch of things marked off the "Baby things to do list." The changing table is up and organized. I've gone through the baby clothes and shoes, bibs, toys, and blankets and they are all organized and waiting to be used. I did realized we have to get some burp rags because we have none! Car seat will be installed this week and then he can come any time after that, that he will like! :) I still have a feeling it will be a couple more weeks though!

7/12/11 - I had my appointment today and all is well! Baby's heartbeat was 136 and I'm measuring perfect! 26 days to go!

July 5, 2011

35 weeks

Pregnancy Highlights:

How Far Along: 35 Weeks
Size of baby: Baby Jay is over 5 lbs and over 18 inches long, about the size of a honeydew melon.

Total Weight Gain/Loss: roughly 45 lbs.... I almost want to have a 20 lb child so to get rid of the baby weight faster! :)

Maternity Clothes: Mostly pants and some shirts.

Gender: A baby boy

Movement: Not as much as he's getting bigger! And some of it hurts!

Sleep: I've started feeling like I need a nap in the afternoon and I've started sleeping on the couch as I'm much more comfy and it's easier to get up and pee 5 times every night.

What I miss: Margarita's, my skinny jeans, working out, bending over and picking things up.

Cravings: Fruity stuff!

Symptoms: The normal - peeing all the time, braxton hicks contractions all day. And my pubic bones HURT. It makes it super difficult to get up they hurt that bad. They've hurt most of my pregnancy, but it's def. getting worse!

Best Moment this week: Getting the stuff back from the place that embroidered the baby's name for me on some of his stuff!

I feel huge! :) Which basically I am. I think I'm about the same size I was when I delivered Lyla. Hopefully, I don't gain more than 50 lbs, because that's a lot of weight to get off! However, I don't feel like I'm as swollen as I was with Lyla. Here's to less than 5 weeks, hopefully and no more than 7! :)

July 1, 2011

July 1st

I can't believe it's July already!!! There is a slight, small, impossible, possibility that Baby Jay will be making this appearance this month! That's just crazy to me! :) I made a to-do list and it's much longer than what I was anticipating. We still need to get the swing out and cleaned up, the changing table needs to come up, and car seat installed. I was so excited with Lyla that her car seat was installed at like 31 weeks. Over eager parent right there. This time, I'm realizing I'd rather have the space in my Durango, while I can! I also have things I want to make him plus Big Sister shirts for Ly as well! I must find some motivation. I never nested with Lyla so maybe with this boy I will. This house could use a good cleaning! Only 38 days to go... :)

We'll we have a great weekend planned and I'm excited to have Sean home for 3 days! :) Next time he's off, it'll be because we have another baby!!!!

Happy 4th of July!

June 27, 2011

34 Weeks!

Pregnancy Highlights:
How Far Along: 34 Weeks
Size of baby: Baby Jay is about 4 3/4th lbs and 18 inches long, about the size of a cantaloupe.

Total Weight Gain/Loss: 42 lbs.... from the scale at the doc's I gained 5 lbs in 2 weeks. Sweetness. The problem with this is I probably ate better those past 2 weeks then I did my whole pregnancy!

Maternity Clothes: Mostly pants and some shirts.

Gender: A baby boy...and I keep thinking, "What am I going to do with a boy!?!" :)

Movement: Yuppers, and some of it is getting painful!

Best Moment this week: Finding out I didn't have gestational diabetes. I also took a few things to get embroidered and I'm excited to get them back!

I had my doc appt. today and everything looks good. I'm measuring right on track for size (even though I feel huge) and his heartbeat was 140! I go back in 2 weeks and then I go weekly!! 42 days!

June 20, 2011

33 weeks

Pregnancy Highlights:
How Far Along: 33 Weeks

Size of baby: Baby Jay is a little over 4 lbs & 17 inches or so! He's about the size of a pineapple! Yum!

Total Weight Gain/Loss: 41 lbs! Eeeek!

Maternity Clothes: A mixture of both.

Gender: A sweet boy! :) the more I think of it, I'm not so sure what I'm going to do with a boy! :) I'm too used to girls!

Movement: He moves ALL the time.

Sleep:I sleep better than I did when I was pregnant with Lyla!

What I miss:Margarita's, my skinny jeans, working out, bending over easily!

Cravings: Fruit and steak.

Symptoms: Lately, I'm losing energy. I get out of breath a lot faster and chasing Lyla gets tougher. I truly wish Sean could be pregnant so he could see what I'm going through! This pictures sums up how I feel! :)

Best Moment this week: Going on our last family of "3" outing (more on that later) and getting a few more things for the cutie!

Only 7 weeks or 48 days to go! Even though, I feel I'm going a week late!

I'm doing my 3 hour glucose testing today and so I'll be completely worn out by the time I get home. Hopefully I pass and don't have to worry about anything else. I truly don't feel like I would have gestational diabetes, but I guess we'll find out!

------------------
Oh the dreaded 3 hour glucose test. It wasn't miserable, but it wasn't fun. I feel like I'm a pro at getting my blood drawn. But the whole process totally wore me plum out. I ran errands between the hour draws and by the end Lyla cried every time I took her out or put her in the car! We finished the morning with Jimmy Johns with Sean and headed home for much needed naps. So.... hopefully I pass and don't have to worry about any of that anymore. I'm pretty sure I passed so I'm not too worried about it.
While I was running errands, we stopped at Phaze 2 here in Hays and I'm excited that they'll be able to embroider a bunch of things for Little Brother! I had tried to get things embroidered for Lyla before she was born, but the lady stiffed me with the stuff so I'm going through a business this time! Super excited! I also got one of the outfits for Lyla's 2 year pictures in the mail today. It's a red lace romper and I HEART it. It's way diva-ish and it's going to be perfect for pictures. I'm also hoping to do a few maternity pictures next week as well. I may just have her wear it for those too! Well that sums up the day... I think an ice cream sandwich is in my future! :)

June 14, 2011

Sugar, Sugar, Sugar

Random post. But as I sit here eating peanut butter and whipped icing together, I was informed I failed my glucose test. By 3 frickn' points. I was technically supposed to do the glucose test at around 26 weeks. Yes. I'm 32 weeks now. So I was a bit late. But now I get to go to the lab place next Monday and spend ALL morning there to get my blood drawn. Sweetness! Also, they informed me that I was anemic, which I already knew from previous lab work from our insurance company. So, there is my exciting news for the day! :)

June 13, 2011

32 weeks

Pregnancy Highlights:

How Far Along: 32 Weeks

Size of baby: He's about 4 lbs and 16 1/2 inches long!

Total Weight Gain/Loss: Ugh. 40 lbs!

Maternity Clothes: Mostly bottoms, some tops.

Gender: Baby boy!!! :)

Movement: All the time. He's a mover. I think he moves much more than what Lyla did!

Sleep: For being 32 weeks, I'd say that I sleep pretty good.

What I miss:Margarita's, my skinny jeans, running, working out!

Cravings:Fruit, steak, fried foods. I'm also craving snack cakes again!

Symptoms: Nothing that isn't normal.

Best Moment this week: Meeting with the doula! 8 weeks to go!

Ohmygoodness. 8 weeks to go! We met with our doula last week and I'll be coming up with our birth plan for the next appt! I'm actually kinda excited about giving birth again...weird? We learned lots and got a lot of information I wouldn't have known if I had not met with her!

I also had my appt today. Baby is doing great. He's head down, heartbeat was 130 and according to their records... I gained 10 lbs in 1 month. Sweetness. I start my 2 week appts now, so time is really going to start flying! 8 weeks til little brother is here!!!!!

Random pregnancy note: If you read this blog while I was pregnant with Lyla, you read that Sean wasn't always the best with words. Well, truth be told. He isn't this time either or anytime really. But recently he's gotten a few jabs in on me. The most recent being, we were reinstalling Lyla's car seat and Sean was sitting in it to get it super tight. Well he goes, you know, you could sit in here too since we pretty much weigh the same. Nice, huh?! With Lyla, Sean weighed about 20 lbs more than what he does now, so we weren't close in weight. But now, I'm about 5 lbs away from what he weighs. Ugh.

June 6, 2011

31 weeks

Pregnancy Highlights:

How Far Along: 31 Weeks

Size of baby: Baby Jay weighs about 3 1/3 lbs and about 16 inches. Babycenter.com says it is like carrying 4 navel oranges!

Total Weight Gain/Loss: Ready for this??? 37 lbs! I've surpassed what I gained with Lyla by 4 lbs. I'm about 8 lbs away from what I weighed when I gave birth to Lyla. Eeeek! So hopefully, no more than a pound a week from here on out!

Maternity Clothes: Mostly pants and just a few skirts. Most of my tanks and stuff fit ok still.

Gender: A healthy boy with an uber cute name!

Movement: All the time. Now I feel more fluent movements instead of punches and kicks. Last night he woke me up in the middle of the night having a dance party. Fun times, kid.

Sleep: My hips fall asleep and go numb a couple times a night so that makes it rough for sleep. Rolling over in bed is getting a bit tougher too.

What I miss:Margarita's, my skinny jeans, running, being skinny.

Cravings: Fruit, steak, lemonade.

Symptoms: Swelling, peeing, growing. I've also had quite a bit of indigestion and heartburn which I didn't have with Lyla. I've also had some vivid dreams.

Best Moment this week: Just feeling him move around.

63 days to go! Holy moly, it is going fast!!! This summer is going to fly by!

June 4, 2011

Randoms

While Sean and I were in Wichita with Max, we met up with Sean's cousin one night for Olive Garden (the baby HAD to have it) and we stopped by the mall for a bit. While we were there Sean came across the build the bear and thought Miss Lyla had to have one!

So meet Finley. One of lyla's favorite words is bow so we got little bows to put on her ears but Lyla keeps pulling them off and so we put them on her arms!

Lyla has always been a great sleeper. But about 3 weeks after we changed her to a toddler bed, she had been getting up earlier and earlier. As in like 6:30. Um, no thanks. I like what little sleep I get. So we talked about getting black out curtains but didn't want to spend the money if it didn't work. So we ghetto rigged it up. Snuggies are the new black out curtains. Slide the curtain rod through the arm holes and viola... black out curtains. And the best part... it worked! The first night she slept until 8:30, the next 8:45 and then a few times we actually had to wake her up so we could go somewhere. I'm loving this. Sometimes she'll get up around 7:45 but I'll take that over 6:45. So now to get the curtains instead of the ghetto snuggies!

Little brother also got a few things. He now has a car seat to go home in. I forgot how heavy those suckers are!

And I'm in the process of washing his newborn and 3 month clothes. Until we figure out if we are moving or staying a little longer, the clothes are hanging out here. He's going to be one stylish boy!
We still have a lot to do or so it seems to get ready for him! Must.find.motivation!

June 2, 2011

30 weeks - a couple days late.

Pregnancy Highlights:

How Far Along: 30 Weeks
Size of baby: Baby Jay weighs about 3 lbs and about 15 1/2 inches. The length of a head of cabbage.

Total Weight Gain/Loss: I'm claiming a mulligan again. I've ate out so much this past week with being gone that I'm sure I"ll be losing a few pounds in the next few days. Let's just say when I got on the scale I was shocked.

Maternity Clothes: Mostly just pants and every once in a while a shirt.

Gender: A healthy boy with an uber cute name!

Movement: All the time. Now I feel more fluent movements instead of punches and kicks.

Best Moment this week: Just feeling him move around.

Only 67 days to go! Eeek!
