Randoms

While Sean and I were in Wichita with Max, we met up with Sean's cousin one night for Olive Garden (the baby HAD to have it) and we stopped by the mall for a bit. While we were there Sean came across the build the bear and thought Miss Lyla had to have one!

So meet Finley. One of lyla's favorite words is bow so we got little bows to put on her ears but Lyla keeps pulling them off and so we put them on her arms!

Lyla has always been a great sleeper. But about 3 weeks after we changed her to a toddler bed, she had been getting up earlier and earlier. As in like 6:30. Um, no thanks. I like what little sleep I get. So we talked about getting black out curtains but didn't want to spend the money if it didn't work. So we ghetto rigged it up. Snuggies are the new black out curtains. Slide the curtain rod through the arm holes and viola... black out curtains. And the best part... it worked! The first night she slept until 8:30, the next 8:45 and then a few times we actually had to wake her up so we could go somewhere. I'm loving this. Sometimes she'll get up around 7:45 but I'll take that over 6:45. So now to get the curtains instead of the ghetto snuggies!

Little brother also got a few things. He now has a car seat to go home in. I forgot how heavy those suckers are!

And I'm in the process of washing his newborn and 3 month clothes. Until we figure out if we are moving or staying a little longer, the clothes are hanging out here. He's going to be one stylish boy!
We still have a lot to do or so it seems to get ready for him! Must.find.motivation!

Sleeping like a baby...

It took her about 5 months, but thankfully this little girl sleeps perfect just about every night. Very, very rarely have I needed to get up with her. Which means this mama gets a good night sleep every night! :)
This is one trait that Lyla got from me. Sleeping. She would still take 2-3 naps everyday if I'd let her. She normally wants to go back to sleep around 9:30 (after she got up at 8) then down for a nap around 12:30 where she sleeps for 2 hours.
Sometimes we take the morning nap, most mornings not. This morning she did and she looked so cute sleeping...in her Halloween jammies! :)

She also sleeps just like her mama except I don't suck my thumb!
Now, miss thing did not get her afternoon nap until about 4 and she was miss cranky pants. And even with a nap she is still miss cranky pants. Oi vey. I think she'll spend the evening with her daddy.
Mama, will craft. More to come!

O.M.G.

You may need to sit down for this one...

...drum roll please...

Lyla slept almost 6 hours last night! Yes. I know. Unbelievable! I laid her down at 9:30ish and she slept for about 45 minutes and then started fussing. About 15 minutes later she was out, but not completely asleep. And she fell asleep in her pack n' play. I woke up at 3:30 wondering if she was ok and it wasn't shortly after that I heard her moving around. Now, after the 3:30 feeding she was back up at 5:30 but that's ok. I can handle that! I just can't believe it! I'm sure this is just a fluke and tonight we'll be up about 5 times but I'm gonna be positive and hope this is a step in the wonderful direction of sleep!

I should mention that we used to have her sleep in an old cradle that I slept in as a baby. Well I think we've reached a point where she is just to big (she is an oinker, you know. She ate 9 oz at 1 feeding yesterday. Holy cow!) and therefore whenever she moves she's hitting her hands on something and wakes up. So we put the pack n' play up in our room and we'll see. So far so good! I'd love to be able to move her to her room but that is downstairs and she's not a good enough sleeper yet. Our next step is going to be to get her to sleep in her pack n' play all night and not sleeping in bed with me after she wakes the first time. This is totally a me thing, not a her thing. And it's kinda sorta a me thing I like!

Anyways, I'm super excited!! :) Please, please please let this happen again!

Our new sleeping arrangements. Out with the old, in with the new!

And in other exciting news, Miss Lyla finally got to meet her Uncle Jonathan. Jonathan is pretty much my 2nd husband and my 1st husband's boyfriend. Get it? Yup, best friends. They totally have a bromance going on. But Jonathan is such a great friend to the both of us and it was great getting to see him and for Lyla to finally meet him!! Jonathan lives in SC and is back to go to the KU-Mizzou game with Sean and some other friends.
(I told you they had a bromance!!)

And because she hasn't made her presence on the blog since Lyla was born, here is Miss Reese. Her and Lyla get along great! Reesie *loves* to kiss her and lay with her on the floor. Lyla still has no clue who she is or what she is, but they are so going to be best friends!!

And just because she's cute!

Have a great Wednesday!! :)
