Half way to 60!

Today is Sean's 30th Birthday, hence the "half way to 60! I can't believe he's 30 - makes me feel even younger than I already am! We celebrated tonight with Sean's parents and his sister and BIL and our nieces! Sean actually cooked on his own birthday and made kabobs - and they were GOOD! Then it was time for the best part! Cake!!!!! I had one made with his baby picture put on it with KU colors of course! I think he liked it!

Other than that, not much is new. I'll post some pictures from tonight whenever I get some time! Hopefully tomorrow!!!!

Happy Memorial Day!

Happy Memorial Day everyone! Mine has turned out much better than I thought. I had a wonderful time seeing my family and catching up. Hopefully it's not another 7 years til I see them again. Sean ended up not having to work today so I actually got to see him! Yippee! He got 12 hours of sleep and wasn't a crab apple whenever he woke up! I did some more sewing today and made some valances for my kitchen. Sean isn't crazy about the fabric but I'm sure it'll grow on him. My sewing is slowly getting better. It's not the best but it's not horrible either (at least I don't think so!) . I'm getting ready to make a cover for Reesie's dog bed now. OH, and here is some pictures of the burp rags I made and a lunch tote I made for my madre! I'm on a sewing mission today!

The ones that I've given the burp cloths to have said that they are liking them so far! Which is always good. My next baby item to sew is a pair of shoes. They are adorable!!!!!

Anywho - hope everyone had a great Memorial Day!!! I know I'm not looking forward to work tomorrow. My whole week is going to be screwed up! Maybe it'll go faster!!!!

Stupid weather

The number one thing I hate about Kansas - the weather! Tornado's are stupid, wind is stupid, hail is stupid. Rain not so stupid. Anyways this stupid weather is keeping me from seeing my hubby for the past 2 days. I've seen him all of 5 minutes since friday night. Good thing I've had my sister-in-law and my nieces in Victoria to keep me entertained. And now Ellis county and the surrounding counties are getting hit again with more stupid tornado's and stupid hail. So I'm guessing that I'll see Sean in maybe a week. I'll probably see him before that, but he'll be such a crab apple that he won't be a pleasure to be around. He's exhausted right now! He's averaging 4-5 hours a night and then working 18 hours a day. Good thing he's tough, because I couldn't do it!

We'll I'm in Great Bend right now to see some family driving through that I haven't seen in 7 years. Sean's never met them, so I was hoping he'd be here but... you guessed it - the stupid weather prevented him from coming. So I'm hanging with the family while Sean helps make people's day by giving them their electricity back. I really hope these storms stop soon. If anyone could arrange that, I would appreciate it!

Ok, I'll post again when I'm not ranting. Hope everyone else is having a better Memorial Day Weekend than me.

Call me Martha Stewart's Sister

So I've found myself a new hobby - SEWING! And wow, I'm already in love! I've been thinking about getting a sewing machine and learning to sew. Well, I already know the basics but I wanted to start doing more. So last night Sean and I went to good ole Walmart and I purchased myself a sewing machine. By no means is it a great sewing machine - just has the basics to get me started. I bought some adorable pink and white polka-doted fleece and then some pink camo fleece and started with some peanut-shaped burp rags for my niece Avery! Well, I made my first two 3 days ago and they didn't turn out to bad. I found the pattern on the internet and it was SO easy to do. The first was a little rough, but turned out ok. But the second was definitely better! And as of today I've made 10 - I'm addicted! I also started making some bibs and of course they are just adorable as well! All this baby stuff is making me think... I need a baby! :) Sean would just love to hear that! So now I'm on the hunt for beginner sewing projects. I'm thinking a new tote might be next in line! I'm so excited!!! :) I only wish we had a better fabric store then Walmart around here.... I'd kill for a Hobby Lobby in Hays. Anyways between my photography, sewing, scrapbooking and life, I'll be busy for a while!

I'm already ready for the week to be over. We had 2 days of torture with about 100+ patients in two days- no joke! I about wanted to shoot myself. So I'm glad that's over. But I'm ready for this 3 day wk.end! The next two days will probably drag! No big plans for Memorial Day wk.end. I think we are planning on going to Great Bend on Sunday to see some family I haven't seen in 8 years so I'm VERY excited!!!! Sean will be "playing" in the yard most of the wk.end replanting the grass - fun I know! Ok - off to sew some more! Good night!

Happy Weekend!

I am so HAPPY that the wk.end has arrived! I need a break from this past week. Some high notes included my 1 year anni with my office I work at. I started last year on May 14. So I had my eval which went very well. My job seems to be looking up, except for a few things that I'll keep to myself. As far as the wk.end goes nothing to much planned. Just working on some homework and cleaning up around the house. Next wk.end is Memorial Day wk.end and Sean and I will begin painting our house. I'm somewhat excited/somewhat not excited. We live in a really old house - just a year and half shy of being 100 years old and so it needs a face lift. I think we are going with a tan for the siding and then off white for the trim! Right now we have ugly lavendar color trim, so I'm VERY excited to get rid of that! I'm surprised Sean and lived with it that way b/c he allows nothing purple (for KSU) to be in the house. His idea of a color scheme would be red and blue ( for KU of course). Sean is busy, of course, this wk.end. He's getting the boat ready for the lake, but having a little bit of trouble with a few things! I can not wait to head to the lake!!! We are very ready to be lake bums again! :) Sean's also getting ready to replant the front lawn, so he'll be busy with that for a while. We'll we are getting ready to head into Hays for dinner and grocery shopping! Have a great wk.end!
