The story...

This is purely for my records, but if you want to read a semi-funny or maybe not story, then here ya go.

Titled: How I found out I was knocked up (again)

First off, Sean and I were trying, but not really trying in November. And considering I needed infertility drugs to get pregnancy with Lyla, I kinda figured that was in the future (and it was as I was going to start them the following month).

It was Monday Dec 6th and I was headed to Salina with Lyla to do some Christmas shopping. I went to Target first and for some reason, while I was there, an inkling came over me that I was pregnant. I had no idea why, but it did. So I bought a test there and on my way out, my curiosity got to me, and I took the test in Target. I'm not patient and couldn't wait any longer. And as quickly as it could, it came up positive! Talk about freaking out and I had no one to talk to but a 1 year old that can't talk back. So I'm pretty much talking to myself, freaking out while I'm getting in the vehicle to leave. As I'm leaving I see Wal-mart and decide I needed another test because I couldn't believe the other one was positive. So I go in and buy a digital test and take that one in the Wal-Mart bathroom (again no patience). And low and behold, it said pregnant. Of course I wanted to tell Sean first and it was the hardest thing not to call someone and blurt it out.

I also decided I wanted a fun way to tell Sean. I looked all over Salina for something that said big sister and couldn't find a thing. I found a ton of Little Sister stuff, but not big sister. Finally, in Penney's I found Pjs that said Big Sister! So I planned it that we would get home just shortly before Sean and I had her all dressed in her shirt when he got home. He just looked at her at first and was like what is this all about? He apparently thought I bought it for her because I also say that Reese and Ly are sisters. After showing him the 4 tests I had taken, he finally believed me! :)

We also told our families right away that day. We emailed a picture of Lyla in her shirt to her Aunt and Uncles and her Grandma and Grandpa and then we skyped with her Granna and Pops. Of course, everyone was thrilled, and probably a little shocked... as were we! :)

Oh and for the record, I couldn't concentrate enough to shop and barely bought a thing! :)

Sweet baby

Meet Miss Kinsly!
I got to meet her and take her newborn pictures on Tuesday...such a sweet thing!

Heart Day

I'm not a big fan of Valentine's day and since Lyla doesn't have a clue that it's a special day, I didn't do anything fun. We met with Sean for lunch and then he brought home those beauties below. One for both Lyla and I. Miss Lyla got a few Melissa and Doug puzzles, a stuffed bear from her Granna and Pops, a swimsuit with flip flops from her Uncle Kevin & Aunt Kelci, and a goody bag from her Uncle Dan and Aunt Renee. As a family, we also got some flowers from Sean's parents.

And then KU played, but we won't go into that. :) Overall, great Valentine's Day! :)

Lyla {18 months}

How in the world can you be 18 months sweet girl? Time has gone so fast. At our latest photo session, you looked so grown up to me. At times, you still remind me of my baby, but lately, you really are growing up.

- You have finally hit 21 lbs! Not sure on the rest, but will update at your appointment.
- You wear 12 month jeans (that are still big on you, but getting too short) and 12-18 months on everything else.
-Still size 3 diaper and your cloth diapers. I've been kinda lazy with the cloth the past 2 months, but now that I'm feeling better, you'll be in them again.

- You are an awesome sleeper. You go to bed around 8 or 8:30 and sleep until about 8 the next morning with a 2 hour nap in the afternoons.
- You are still a great eater! You will eat just about everything in front of you. You have your days where you don't like something, but then the next day you will chow it down. You never refuse snacks! You are still trying to eat with a spoon/fork, but most of the time you just use your fingers.
-You are starting to repeat more words, but don't really use them in context except for mommy, dada, puppy, and reese. You'll say please and thank you with a little reminding.
- Your vocab did take off a bit this month and you can now say please, reese, book, yellow, papa, love you. The past few days you have been calling Granna mum as well.

- You are trying to take off and run! Which usually leads you to falling on your head.

-You are no longer biting!!!!! But you do not play well with other kids most of the time. Sharing is not your favorite thing and whenever other kids come near you, you sometimes squeal. Sometimes you have your sweet moments with your friends and will hug them and hold their hand.

- You have started to love, love, love your babies. You love to feed them, burp them, and put them night night.
-But you love balls too. Your a mixture between girlie girl and tom boy.
-You love sunglasses, your daddy's hats, and momma's jewelry.
-You hardly cry now whenever I leave you. You give me a kiss and hug and off you go.
-Puppies are still your favorite thing ever. You shake in excitement whenever you see one and love to play with them. You recently got to play with a new puppy and you laughed the whole time it jumped all over you.
- You love being outside. You've even started enjoying the park a little more. You are still very timid about doing some of the stuff, but you didn't cry, so that's a plus!
Happy 18 months sweet girl!! You are a complete joy and we love you so much! Hard to believe you'll be 2 in a short 6 months along with becoming a big sister!!
We love you!

16 weeks

Pregnancy Highlights:
How Far Along: 16 weeks
Size of baby: Baby Jay is 4 oz and 4 inches long! About the size of an avocado.
Total Weight Gain/Loss: Ugh...I've gained 9 or 10 lbs already. I'm starving with this pregnancy and eating out is what I desire the most. Which I blame for the weight gain! Oh well, it'll come off!
Maternity Clothes: I wear my first pair of maternity capri's the other day and they are comfy. I wore my new maternity jeans just last night. They are still a bit big, but much more comfortable.
Gender:Who knows....4 more weeks! We got a sonogram on Thursday and we have an idea but it is still very earlier and aren't going off of it to much. I have my moments when I think boy but sometimes I have my girl moments too. Some people say I'm already carrying low so they think boy and someone else said because I'm so hungry that it's a boy. But who knows.... I think those people want me to have a boy!! Ha!
Movement: Nothing solid yet.
Sleep: I'm sleeping pretty good!
What I miss: Margarita's!!
Cravings:Well, I got my gyro the other day, so now I'm over that. But fruit always sounds good as does Jimmy John's. Hamburger's and steaks sound great as well.
Symptoms:I've had quite a few headaches the past few days. Very little gagging.
Best Moment this week: "Seeing" my baby! More on that soon, once I upload the pictures. But everything looks really good and we have one healthy, active baby! :)
I'm so thankful for blogging. I love doing these weekly updates and being able to have this for whenever I print it out. I also love being able to look back at my weekly updates with Lyla and comparing the two. Only 24 more weeks to go! 4 weeks til the sono and 11 weeks until I'm in the 3rd trimester! And, about 7 weeks or so until Miss Lyla and Baby Jay get another cousin! Such a busy time ahead of us!!! And since we are on a countdown, about a month and a 1/2 until my birthday! Yay!
Also, congrats to Miss Regina. She had her baby girl yesterday!! A whooping 8 lbs 13 oz... but still nameless. I'm doing newborn pictures of her next week and can't wait to meet her!

Bad blogger

I haven't been in the mood to blog lately. So consider yourself lucky today!

A little while back, my girls (nieces) came over for the day due to a snow day! There was lots of baby playing, rocking, feeding, dress up, etc. I could very easily handle 3 girls. Sean on the other hand, would probably lose his mind. After Lyla had a nap, the girls wanted to go in the snow. You know I hate snow, but thought Ly should be allowed to see what snow is all about once in her life, right? So we all bundled up...

looking a bit ghetto. No one was snow ready so we had to find random things in the house to keep us warm. I couldn't find Lyla's mittens so she had my socks on her hands. Avery didn't have a hat, so a hat that is still to big for Lyla went to her. And then Avery added the sunglasses by herself. Totally made the outfit, if you ask me!

This picture cracks me up, every.single.time. I look at it. She's such a goof.

Miss Reese even got in on some action. But Reese, Lyla and I only lasted about 2 minutes, but the girls wanted to say out.

When they finally came back inside, they were covered head to toe in snow. Threw all their clothes in the dryer, made a cup of hot cocoa, and they were happy playing in their undies. Oh, to be a kid again.

Happy {Heart} Day!

February 10, 2011

Snow days.

I {really} hate winter. It makes me sad, lazy, depressed, lazy, sleepy, lazy, and cold. I have NO motivation whatsoever. I want sunny skies. I want to be able to go run outside, take walks. I want to just be outside, instead of inside. I'm ready for the lake. For the boat, but not for the maternity bathing suit that comes with that. Ugh... I want energy. Motivation. I want spring to come soon. I {need} it to come soon.

Ok, rant over.

We've been cooped up the last 3 days. Which doesn't bother me too much since I don't want to get out in this weather, whatsoever. But I am semi looking forward to getting out tomorrow esp. since I don't have to get Lyla out in it. Get this.... Seany boy is taking his princess on a date. Gasp. I know. Crazy. Looks like we'll do more than sit on the couch while Sean watches the history channel and I'm on the computer. We are too cool for school around here.

What else? I watched my nieces the other day and come to the decision I would love 3 girls. Girls are my type. I actually took pictures but now I just need the motivation to take my camera and hook it up to the computer.

Lyla also got her first experience in the snow. We lasted 5 minutes. Remember, I {hate} winter.

Lyla is doing well and almost 18 months. However, I feel like I spend most days saying no or yelling her name 5 times before she looks at me because she is so enthralled in the TV right. We are watching WAY more TV than I'd like, so that would be another reason I {hate} winter. There is nothing to do.

Ok, the vent is really over now!! :)

Bed head

This was the first time this child's hair was crazy whenever she woke up from her nap!

Her hair is so thin that the back normally becomes a rat tail by the end of the day.
Sweet girl!

14 weeks

Pregnancy Highlights:
How Far Along: 14 weeks
Size of baby: Baby Jay is the size of a lemon
Total Weight Gain/Loss: So far 7 lbs...eek. I'm blaming it on Jimmy Johns...and all the food I ate last night! I didn't gain anything with Lyla until around 16 or 18 weeks!
Maternity Clothes: Nothing yet, though my pickings are getting slim in the pant department. I ordered a few maternity this the other day but since haven't found jeans I like.
Gender: Still undecided. 6 weeks or so until we find out!
Movement: Haven't felt it yet, but while checking for the heartbeat she or he was active.
What I miss: Nothing really
Cravings: Salads, sandwiches, steak, fruit
Symptoms: Mostly tiredness, few headaches, and gagging here and there. It hasn't been as bad as what it was with Lyla
Best Moment this week: Hearing the heartbeat again!

I had my 14 week appt. and met with the doc for the first time this pregnancy. The heartbeat was 150 and everything was really good. I go back in 4 weeks! And then we can scheduled the sono!! :)
ETA: I went back to look at some old blog post of me pregnant with Ly and found out around this time her hearbeat was 136 and I had only gained 1 lb by this point. Oy vey, I'm gonna be huge!

Drink much?

Apparently, Lyla will be taking after her dad.

She would stick her finger in the bottle,
lick her finger, smile,

and go in for more! :)
Don't get your panties in a bunch, she couldn't taste anything, but she was cute doing it!
