*Cute* sausage toes

So I got a pedicure today and my toenails look fabulous! They make the sausage toes look so much better. That is, if sausage toes can look good.

Nothing to exciting around our house. Both of us are just anxiously waiting, more so one of us. I have no patience right now. Zip.Zap.Zero. I'm starting to believe she is never coming. Even though, I know she has too!

Both of us has been lounging lately, more so one of us, again. When I came home from my pedicure, I found Sean asleep on the couch. He's not feeling so hot tonight so hopefully he's not getting sick. I didn't feel good yesterday and even went to bed at 8:30. I love sleep.

Not much news in the baby department. I'm not getting my hopes up for my next appointment. I got my hopes up last time and was highly disappointed.

Well, really, that's all I got. It's a lame night in the Rodger household. Peace out kids.

Oh, and when you lay your head down to sleep, say an extra prayer for me and baby girl. Please pray she makes her entrance VERY soon!

#200

This is my 200th post! Crazy, crazy. I started this about a year and a half ago and it's hard to believe I've posted 200 times. Sean doesn't understand my love for blogging, but I really enjoy it! And even more, he doesn't understand my love for stalking other people's blogs. Oh, well. Such is life! :)

Here's the scoop for 38 weeks!
How far along?: 38 weeks
Total weight gain: 32
lbs - I lost a pound this week. Shucks!
How big is baby?: around 6 1/2 lbs
Maternity clothes?: Kinda. Mostly just my jeans.
Stretch marks?:Oh, yes. No change there. They are super itchy. Another reason I want her to come so my stomach can stop stretching.
Sleep?: Still on the couch, however I slept through the night a few times in bed. Sean hates it though b/c I roll a lot and he doesn't get a good nights sleep.
Best moment this week?: Getting the nursery complete!
Movement?: Not near as much. I can feel her feet on my right side and her butt moves across my tummy.
Food cravings?: Lemonade and cheesecake.
Labor signs?: A handful of contractions everyday (but they aren't doing anything...grrr.)
Belly button in or out?: Out.
What I miss: Walking without waddling.
What I'm looking forward to: sleeping normally, my hips not hurting, and of course meeting her... hopefully soon.
Milestone: Just making it another week without losing my sanity.

My doctor's appointment went well today. I lost a pound, too! Her heartbeat was 134 and I progressed absolutely zero. He said I was a full fingertip but that's it. But he did she is head down, face down and engaged so that's something I suppose. When I found out I hadn't dilated anymore I about cried. I was seriously hoping for something. We've been trying "natural" labor inducers without any luck. Oh, well. Like I've said before. She's going to take after her dad and be stubborn and never come out. My next appt is Monday at 9 and if I haven't progressed at all I'm going to see if he'll strip my membranes. I'll try anything at this point. Oh, and the most that she'll be in there is for another 4 weeks. I know that doesn't seem long, but to this tired, uncomfortable momma, it is!

Here's a few pics of her nursery to show off. We finally hung up her name letters so of course I can't show you those! :) But you can get an idea of what it looks like. And you are more than welcome to come see it in person. After she comes, of course!

The changing table, my $3 DIY frame, and her hair bow board.

The nursing/reading nook.
My fluffy butt stash under the changing table. I love how organzied it is!
The diaper bag. I love it (until I find another one I love!)
The crib and pink rug. I love the rug!! There isn't much pink in the room so this definitely adds some color! The KU mobile that Sean "had" to have. Also in the picture you can see where the name letters will go. There's a little sneak peek of one hanging. Good luck figuring it out (Becca!)

Sausage toes...

are disgusting. Whenever my feet swell, my toes normally don't. Well yesterday my toes decided to swell so bad I couldn't even bend em. So I had cankles and sausage toes yesterday. And starting around 10 a.m. today I started swelling again and by 11 I had sausage toes once again. So my feet are propped up and I'm playing on the Internet until the swelling goes down a bit.

To tell ya the truth, I'm in a super bad mood today. We were supposed to go to the lake today but now we aren't. I won't even get started on that or else I'll be ripping someone a new one. I have things to do around the house, but I'd much rather be on a boat hanging out. Instead, I'll sulk, lay on the couch, and probably not do the things I need to do. Who knows.

Oh, I'm finally packing my hospital bag. I'm still believing this baby is never coming and that I have a while until it needs to be packed. But people keep hassling me about it, so it's getting done. I have my appointment tomorrow and I'm hoping for some progress but I'm definitely not getting my hopes up at all!

Well I'm going to continue to be a grump for a bit. Hopefully whoever reads this today has a much better day than me.

Oh, hormones. How I hate you.

I gotta feeling...

this baby is never coming. Yes, I know my due date is still 16 days away. Don't you worry, I'm counting down. But I'm very blah. I'm swollen, have hip pain, daily backaches, can hardly tie my shoes let alone put on pants. Game over kids. I've had my fun. I'm beyond ready for this baby to come. I'm ready for labor. I'm ready to to be in pain and tell Sean how much I hate him for doing this to me! Ok, just kidding, that's only in the movies kids. When I'm in labor, I'll be smiling and laughing, enjoying it all without any pain. I won't be sweating while pushing, I'll be glowing. I'll be in labor for just a few hours and she'll come out after just a few pushes and I'll be up and at em' before you know it!

Ok, so I'm dreaming. I know. But this waiting game allows me to think about this whole labor process over and over. Sometimes it's good, sometimes it freaks me out. Here's my real game plan. I plan on laboring at home for as long as I can. Remember, I work in that hospital. I've worked there for over 6 years total. I don't need to spend anymore time there then need be. I'm "hoping" my water breaks at home and then we'll just go in. I do not want my water breaking at work or go into labor while I'm at work while I'm playing with people's eyeballs. Not my idea of fun.

Oh, and when I am in labor, Mr. Epidural will be my best friend.

Wanna know my biggest fear of labor? Not knowing I'm actually in labor. I've been having contractions daily, but nothing serious. Everyone tells me I'll "know" when I'm in labor but I'm not so sure about this. The other day Sean and I were going to Russell and I had 3 contractions on the drive there. They were like 15 -18 minutes apart and I think Mr. Daddy got a little freaked. Oh, he's going to be a *great* labor coach...passed out on the floor! :) Love you babe!

Maybe I should pack my bag before she comes, ya think? Minor details. It is on the to-do list for the weekend.

Speaking of the weekend, nothing big in store for us this weekend. Just getting things done around the house. Maybe I'll begin nesting and I'll go into labor and have a baby by Monday. Ok, so I'm dreaming again. See, I think about this constantly.

Well I'm off to go do something on my to-do list at 11:30 at night. I took a nice, long nap after work so I'll be up a little longer!

I'll leave you with 2 pictures! I took pics for my SIL and BIL on Wednesday and while we had 1 uncooperative girl, the other was a doll and we got some good shots. This is one of my favorite shots even though it doesn't look like they have mad love for each other. All Avery wanted was a skittle. Bribary can work magic! :)
This was my cooperative girl. Oh, how I heart her!

37 weeks! Whoop whoop!

Dear Baby Jay,

You've made it to 37 weeks and mommy and daddy are VERY ready to meet you, so therefore you have been given your eviction notice. You have 3 weeks to exit and make your debut! Please try really hard to do it sooner rather than later. Mommy is getting very swollen, uncomfortable and extremely tired. Your nursery is just about complete and just waiting for you to arrive! Can't wait to meet you, baby girl!

Love, Mommy & Daddy

This weeks stats include:
Your full-term (yay!) baby is gaining about 1/2 ounce a day and getting her first sticky poop (called meconium) ready. She's also brushing up on skills for the outside world: blinking, sucking, inhaling, exhaling, and gripping (it's getting strong!).

How far along?: 37 weeks
Total weight gain: 33
lbs - and I officially weigh more than my hubby. Great.
How big is baby?: around 6 lbs
Maternity clothes?: Kinda. I outgrew my favorite maternity capri's so I'm living in just soffe shorts and sport bras and dresses.
Stretch marks?: Oh yes, just underneath my belly and a few on the hips. Not to bad, but I have a feeling the bikini days are over for this chica.
Sleep?: On the couch, I sleep so much better there then in bed. Sean doesn't mind having the bed to himself either!
Best moment this week?:
Movement?: She has the hiccups all the time and lots of stretching and rolling, not a lot of kicks.
Food cravings?: Lemonade and fruit
Labor signs?: A handful of contractions everyday.
Belly button in or out?: Out.
What I miss: Margaritas and sleep
What I'm looking forward to: Getting to meet her!
Milestone: Making it to 9 months!

Today was my appointment and my first internal. I must say that it wasn't a near as bad as what I was thinking. Actually it wasn't bad at all. So here's the scoop. I'm a fingertip dilated and 50% effaced. So I have some progress. Not much but some. I also gained 2 lbs and her heartbeat was 124. Someone was snoozing. Hopefully this girl takes after her mama. I couldn't stop thinking about it her all.freaking.day. At the most, baby jay should be here within 5 weeks. We had a super busy weekend getting the house ready. Baby gear is starting to take over the living room and the nursery is complete. We even hung up her name letters and so therefore the nursery if off limits until she comes, which I hope is soon. I'm ubber uncomfortable. Seriously uncomfortable. Oh, and I waddle which makes for a nice picture. My back aches constantly and I'm now up 2-3 times a night to pee. While it's nice to hear that people don't think I look like I'm going to have a baby in a few weeks, I still feel like a whale sometimes. Shoe tying is becoming HARD, as is putting on pants and getting off our couch. Oh, pregnancy life. How I can't wait to have my body back. Pregnancy has had its ups and downs and for the most part I've really enjoyed it. But now, not so much.

Over the last few days, my adorable, loving, caring, speaks before he thinks husband of mine has said some just wonderful things lately that I want to share. We all know how much he loves me, right!

The other day I mentioned that I don't feel like I look that big. Hubby's response..."compared to what"?

Then one night I was going to go upstairs to bed when he proceeds to tell me he doesn't want me there, that I should sleep on the couch so he can have the bed to himself. Sweet, huh?

Oh, how I love him!

July 14, 2009

Rock out with your bump out!

And that I did. I totally rocked the bikini this weekend! And I looked hot! :) Ok, so maybe not as Heidi Klum in a bikini when she's pregnant but I still looked hot! We headed out to the lake Sunday afternoon with my parents and had an awesome time! Oh I heart the lake. I could go there every.single.weekend. No lie. Sean got to wake board, ski and knee board. My dad even got up and skied for about 5.2 seconds, if even that. He broke his back skiing many, many years ago and so mom was freaking out about him getting up. So we told him we'd let him get up but then he was going back down. Once he got up we could hear him yelling, "keep going", but we let him back down. The last thing we need is Pops in the hospital while I'm having his granddaughter!
Sean wake boarding
Miss Reese - She was NOT a fan of the lake.Me rocking out in my bikini. Mom and I relaxing!Dad right before he skied!

And I have reached 36 weeks! 4 weeks to go! I never thought I'd reach this point but it feels so good to be here even if it means I have feet the size of watermelons, my back aches and I'm exhausted 99.8% of the time. But I'm almost done, so that gives me hope! She sure can't stay in there forever, thankfully! My appointment on Monday went just fine. Gained 1 lb putting me at 31 lbs and her heartbeat was 130. Oh, and I'm negative for the Group B strep so I won't need any antibiotics whenever I deliver! She's still head down and at my next appointment I'll have an internal to see if I'm dilated at all. Cross your fingers I am!!

Here's the stats for 36 weeks!
Your baby is gaining about an ounce a day. She now weighs almost 6 pounds (like a crenshaw melon) and is more than 18 1/2 inches long. She's shedding most of the downy hair that covered her body, as well as the vernix caseosa, the waxy substance that protected her skin during her nine-month amniotic bath. Next week, your baby will be considered full-term. Most likely she's in a head-down position, but if she isn't, your practitioner may suggest scheduling an external cephalic version, where she'll try to turn your baby by manipulating her from the outside of your belly.

2 years!

Well kids, Seany boy and I have made it 2 years! Of course there has been up and downs but overall, I wouldn't change any of it! In our first 2 years we've traveled to Florida and South Carolina, created a baby :), became KU season ticket holders, bought a boat, countless day trips and have fallen even more in love! I'm so blessed with our life that we have and enjoy it everyday, even if it's been a bad day! I can't wait to see what our future holds!!!

Sean surprised me with flowers at work and then we went out to eat at Guiterrez that night for supper! Of course, we actually spent our true anniversary getting Sean's wisdom teeth taken out, taking a nap and a just hanging out. The Mr. was a big grumpy bear so it wasn't all that exciting!!! Here's the flowers he sent me and a picture we took before supper! AWW to us!

Love daisies!

Us before supper

Our wedding day!

Well I'm off to finish working on pictures and getting ready for my trip to Great Bend for the weekend. Momma and I are making a bunch of meals to freeze, a little trip to the Barton County Fair, and maybe the lake on Sunday!!! Have a great weekend!

July 7, 2009

Oh Seany boy.

Prince Charming got to experience getting his wisdom teeth removed today. He hates anything medical and was not wanting to do this is any way. But since the doc said he had too, and our deductible was met, we scheduled it! And it just happened to be on our anniversary! More on that later...

We got there about 7:45 and by 8:15 he was ready to go. I had to leave the room at that time but it was only about 20 minutes later that they told me he was done. Then a few minutes after that, I got to go back and see him! He kept saying that he felt so good and that it felt like he had only been asleep a few minutes. Which is pretty much what happened. I had to watch an instructional video and then spent sometime trying to get him to wake up. By 9:20 we were outta there! The doctor said that he did just fine and that he'll be as good as new. They weren't impacted or anything, so we are expecting a speedy recovery. We got him pain meds, but he hasn't needed them yet. He had a little bit of trouble with bleeding since we've been home, but he finally was able to eat something a little bit ago. When we got home, we both fell asleep for a bit but when I woke up he had been up for a while already! It's been funny listening to him talk with all the gauze in his mouth!!!

The girls stopped by to drop off our anniversary card and Miss Abi was a little freaked out by Uncle Sean! Oh, and Avery kept saying Reese the whole time she was here as well. Couldn't get her to say my name for the life of me. Don't worry, I'm not giving up. She can't refuse to say it forever! :)

Here's a few pics I took today of him. He felt stupid he said with me taking his picture but did I care... nope! :) Gotta document then blog everything! :) The first is right before they gave him the medicine to knock him out and the second is him falling asleep in the car. He'd be mid conversation and then just fall asleep!!! He looked so cute! :) Well I'm off. Just in case you haven't noticed I posted 2 other times today so feel free to catch up! I'm gonna do an anniversary one sometime tonight!

35/35

Holy Moly we are down to less than 35 days since I'm posting a day late! I had my appt Monday and everything is looking good. Her heartbeat was 130 and I gained.... drum roll.... a whooping zero pounds! Now as much as I'm not enjoying gaining this weight, I was in no way trying not to gain anything. Musta just lucked out this time. And I gained PLENTY at my last visit! I got my Group B strep test done and I'm now on to weekly visits! Time has flown by!!

Your baby doesn't have much room to maneuver now that he's over 18 inches long and tips the scales at 5 1/4 pounds (pick up a honeydew). Because it's so snug in your womb, he isn't likely to be doing somersaults anymore, but the number of times he kicks should remain about the same. His kidneys are fully developed now, and his liver can process some waste products. Most of his basic physical development is now complete — he'll spend the next few weeks putting on weight.

I'm not really thinking that Baby Jay weighs 5 lbs quite yet, but you never know. I am measuring about 2 weeks behind so I'm thinking she's more in the high 4 lb range. I am SO ready to meet her though!!! Its hard to believe that only 2 more weeks until full term and she can come anytime after that! Preferably not AFTER her due date though! :)
She's still moving a ton and still loves to hang out on my right now. I'm getting a much more Braxton Hicks contractions everyday. I also had my first run in with her playing with my ribs. I'm thinking one of her feet were on them and she flicked em' off. I'd have to say it wasn't the most comfortable thing I've felt so far!!! Other than that, things are still going well. I'm starting to get to the point where, while I'll miss feeling her inside me, I'm very ready to have my body back!

The 4th

I've said it before, and I'll probably say it over and over. I *absolutely* love being an aunt! This past Saturday Abi came over and we made a 4th of July cake. It was delicious!!! It wasn't anything special but we had a good time making it... and we may have had a better time licking the batter and the icing! :) That, my friend, is the best part of baking. Cake batter and icing!

Here's Abi licking the spoon after we put the cake in the oven.

And Abi with the final product! By no means will we be the next Cake Boss but we had fun!!

Oh, and whenever Renee dropped Abi off, Avery was there and we got her to say.... Reese. Of all things, Reese is what she'll say. I can't even get her to try my name. I think she missed the memo on how she is supposed to say her Aunt's name first. Not the dogs name that she's scared to death off. We'll keep working on it!

July 4, 2009

Happy 4th!

This may be one of my hubby's favorite holidays. He's a history buff, ya know. So he loves anything American.

I had big plans for this weekend, but that kinda headed south. I ran out of thread. And that messed up ALL of my sewing plans. Remember, I was hoping to have the nursery finished this weekend but that's not possible without thread. And I could run to Hays to get thread but if you do the math, it'll cost me more to drive there then to pick up thread. So I'll wait until I have to go there to get it. If maybe my Durango got more than 16 miles to the gallon, I'd considerate it. Speaking of my Durango, the poor thing got a bit of a bruise. Sometime last week it got hit by a rock and my windshield has a nice, bullet looking cut. Luckily it hasn't spread anymore. But it does look like my Durango lived through a drive by shooting. Sean said something about waiting til fall to fix it. Not sure why, but I guess that's the plan. But Sean is being prince charming again (like always, right :) ) and cleaning my Durango out and evening waxing it.

Well I'm off to work on some pictures then clean this house. We are headed to a BBQ in Dorrance and might stop off at the lake after that to see some friends. So I think a nap will be in order because it might be a late night. I think Sunday we are gonna head out to the lake for a little bit. Oh, how I heart that place.

Oh, anyone have dog tranquilizers? I need some for Miss Reese. Right now she's sitting under my desk shaking. She's obviously not a big fan of the 4th!

Happy 4th of July!
