Cohen {2 months}

Happy 2 month birthday, Cohen Finn.

- You weigh between 10-11 pounds I would guess.
- You are out of newborn clothes and wear 0-3 which fit perfect. You also have tiny feet and do not fit in any newborn shoes!
- You just moved into size 1 diapers and also started wearing cloth diapers for the first time.

-You normally go to sleep between 8:30 and 10.
-You sleep 1 good 5-7 hour stretch and then you normally fall back asleep for 2 hours or so.
- You take 2 good naps a day and then cat nap here and there. If you are stimulated to much, you will not nap for more than 20 minutes.

- You love to be swaddled tight when you sleep and will sleep better if you are. You also seem to fuss for a second by rubbing your face into our chests right before you crash!
- You normally nap in your bed and sleep better that way too. I no longer let you nap in your swing unless you haven't slept all day. You could sleep forever in your swing!
- You nurse about every 2 1/2 to 4 1/2 hours. You love to "snack".

- You will finally take a bottle decently. You are not a fan though! You are definitely a boob man!
- You will not take a pacifier!
- Neck strength is getting pretty good.

- Not a huge fan of tummy time and usually fall asleep during it!
- You LOVE baths and love to kick your legs.
- Smiling more and more everyday! You also love to "talk" back to us whenever we talk to you.
- You also found your tongue and stick it out a ton... I like to call you my lizard!

- You've found your hands and like to suck on them!
- You are generally pretty content! Still a serious boy! ;)
- Your big sister loves you to death too! She loves to call you coco buddy and is constantly talking about your or playing with you!

We love you, Co! :)

8 weeks!

This little cutie is 8 weeks already! Crazy, right? He celebrated his 8 week birthday by wearing cloth diapers!!! I finally put them on him and his tush just looks so cute in some owls! ;)

I just love him! ;)

He is also an only child right now! Lyla went to her granna and pops for a few days and it's been nice just having him! It's so different just having 1 little baby that does nothing but eat, sleep, poo, coo, smile and repeat!

Shopping!

Cohen and I took our first shopping trip! The kiddos were getting pretty desperate for new fall clothes and Hays has NOTHING so off to Salina we went. He did sooo good and pretty much slept the entire time. We also got to visit and eat supper with Ty and Kayla! We always get to see them whenever we are in town and love catching up with them. And I'm sure if Cohen could talk, he would say he loved all the time Kayla loved on him! ;) Even Ty got in on the action and held him!

I get freaked out every time we go to the food court of the mall and see these fish. I'm not a fan of fish and hate aquariums. But on Lyla's first shopping trip, it was to Salina as well and we took a picture of her and my mom and I in front of this. So I had to do the same... minus my mom and I in the picture! ;)

Overall, the shopping trip was a success. The kiddos have a few outfits until my mom and I have our annual shopping trip in Wichita. We banked at Old Navy as they were having a 75% off sale off a few things! I will say, Target disappointed me! ;(

Also, we started bathing the babes together. Lyla loves to take baths with him and whenever we tell her its bath time, she says "Coco buddy, too?". Yes, she calls him Coco buddy! Love her!

Cohen's birth announcement

Are you thinking maybe you aren't loved because you didn't get one in the mail? Don't be, because these haven't gotten any further than my computer. I ordered them once but something was wrong with the size so the lab cancelled the order and I forgot to re-order. Sooo... considering he'll be 8 weeks this week, I'm not planning on sending them anymore. Sorry second child... you are still loved.
Front

BackHe looks SO little!!! Just love him to pieces.

Girls Night & Friends

Friday, I went out and had a girls night with some friends! We headed to Jalisco's for margarita's and oh.my. have I missed those! We then went down to a bar called Toby Jugs... and I felt utterly old there. I haven't been there for about 6 years. It was Octoberfest weekend so there were drunk people galore! And get this... I stayed out to about 12:30. Whooo hooo! That's pretty good for me! I haven't had a girls night for a while, so it was great to get out. But I missed my little family at home... and also going to bed at 9:30! I'm a tired cookie this morning since I didn't get to bed until after 1:30 which is WAY late for me. And way late when I had a baby get up about 2 hours later.

Lyla and I before I left... she didn't want her momma to leave!

Today has been a rainy day! I was supposed to have 2 sessions, but they rescheduled so we had a family day! We went into Hays for lunch at Applebee's and then went to the mall for a bit! I even found my dress for our family pictures. It's ADORABLE!

After we got home, our friends Matt and Sara came by to meet Cohen! A good, rainy Saturday! ;)

KU game 2011

Sept 3rd, we took the kiddos to the first KU game of the year... and get this. We won! ;) This was Cohen's first game and Lyla's 2nd game! Cohen was only 2 weeks old!! Overall, it went pretty well! It did rain for a little bit, but not long enough to really be bothersome. Lyla was in rare form a few times from no nap, but she didn't pretty good. Sean was a bit stressed at times but we both agreed that seeing Lyla's face light up during the game, made everything worth it. I really wish the KU would have a check spot of some sort that we could check our bags/stroller. We walked... ALOT and a stroller would have been so helpful. We also sat in the family zone for the first time and the seats really weren't all that bad.

The pictures are all out of order...

Cohen rocking his KU shirt!

First KU family photo!

This is where Cohen hung out most of the time!

Our little cheerleader!!

Love him!

Aren't they cuties?

I just love them... they completely melt my heart. I've always heard people talk about the love for their children being like none other and I agree. Completely and honestly true.

My heart swells with love for these 2 babies. The other day Lyla did something that just put a big smile on my face and made my heart happy. I just love being a mom.

(How cute is this guy... he woke up full of smiles but of course, as soon as the camera is out, they go away!! And hello, adorable-ness with the plaid shorts. Eek!)

I am beyond blessed! ;)

Today was a good day! We got suited up and headed to Hays for my moms group meeting and then did some shopping at Wal-mart. Then we went and met Sean for lunch! ;) Love that man!
Unfortunately though, our shower broke for some odd reason, so we've/Sean have been trying to fix it with no luck. Mr. Plumber....where are you?

A morning laugh...

My husband is going to kill me, but this is way to funny not to post! Like pee your pants funny. I think I've watched it over and over and over again.

For the record, he started P90X tonight and is the most unflexible person!

I'm sorry honey, but I had to post it! But know that I love you to pieces!!

Play date and fall

This morning I hosted a library play date for my Mom's club. I love all things cute, so I found these on pinterest and just had to make them for the kiddos. Ghost s'mores... the picture is bad but they are cute! And I love me some peeps!

I was trying to get a picture of them together before we left and this is what I got. Lyla throwing a fit... thanks Ly.
This afternoon we spent some time outside since it is beautiful!!!

She is a hot mess... what a hair do!

I think I've lost my battle with Sean... looks like I'm going to have a basketball player and not my cheerleader. Though, maybe technically I haven't lost since she loves to cheer while she's playing! ;)
I'll love her to pieces whether she's kicking butt in sports or getting all dolled up!
Also, Mr. Cohen has some exciting news!

I plan to use the chalkboard to document his 1st's. Though I don't really like how this one turned out. To many words or something... I'll have to think of something different for next time.

And this is blurry, but it's part of his smile... sometimes he smiles like this or we get tiny little grins. Either way, super cute.
This is the look we get a lot, my serious boy! ;)
Yes, he is finally smiling! And he makes us work hard for it! I've tried so hard to get it on camera and I haven't gotten a good one, except for this one off my phone!

Love my sweet girl!My babes!
And this video I got... please ignore the baby talk/voice. And don't mind the fact I'm ignoring Lyla the whole time. I promise I don't... most of the time! ;) Ha!

Yay for a great day! ;) Love my sweet family!

-----
And for a memory, I told Lyla that she was going to see her mimi, Abi and Avery tomorrow and she threw a HUGE fit because she wanted to see them right now. So we called Abi to talk to her, and the minute she heard Abi's voice, she broke out in a huge smile. I know that made her day! So thanks for making Lyla happy again, Abi! ;)

The weekend

A few pictures from our weekend! It was a Rock Chalk Saturday so we all had on our KU gear and the famous blowup Jayhawk was up!

And Cohen sleeping... so sweet! He looks like a chunk! He's getting so big. When I measured him here at home he was almost 10 lbs!

Last night, Mr. Cohen decided he was wide awake at 3 in the morning so we came downstairs to sleep so Sean could get some sleep without listening to a snorting, cooing little boy. I put him in his swing and laid on the couch and we were both out! However, a very cute little girl that isn't so cute in the mornings came out at 5:30 ready to play. Um, no thanks missy. I like my sleep. So after sending her back to her room twice, she finally crawled up on the couch with me. And then proceeded to fall asleep. I would say how awesome that was except a cute little boy decided he was ready to wake up and eat. I'm not quite sure my kiddos understand just how much I love my sleep! I told Sean I wish we still had Lyla in her crib instead of the toddler bed that way I could at least get a few extra minutes! ;)

When Sean got up this morning, he played "personal trainer" and we worked out together. I am mixing running (I started the Couch 2 5k again), insanity, and weight lifting. As sore as I am, I feel great and sleeping better and I've already lost 2 lbs in 4 days. I have a lot more to go, but feel good with the progress so far. And I'm so ready to get back into shape!

Here are our babies this morning watching us workout! ;) Love them!! And for the record, I don't think they look anything alike! And also, Sean dressed Lyla in her pj's and they don't match! ;)

Sean and Lyla headed to church today while Cohen and I stayed home so I could get some work done. I'm WAY behind and have clients patiently waiting for their pretty pictures! And I've managed to get a ton done. It's amazing what you can get done without a toddler running around!

Funny story, when Lyla came out of her room from her nap she saw the TV and saw the Steelers on there and starting screaming football over and over again and cheering. This girl LIVES for football it seems. It's sooo cute! Love that sweet girl! OH, and I also taught her to stick her finger in her mouth and make a gagging face whenever someone mentioned the Chiefs! It's sooo cute! ;) Go Steelers! (Even though they lost and the Chiefs actually won one!)
