The weekend

A few pictures from our weekend! It was a Rock Chalk Saturday so we all had on our KU gear and the famous blowup Jayhawk was up!

And Cohen sleeping... so sweet! He looks like a chunk! He's getting so big. When I measured him here at home he was almost 10 lbs!

Last night, Mr. Cohen decided he was wide awake at 3 in the morning so we came downstairs to sleep so Sean could get some sleep without listening to a snorting, cooing little boy. I put him in his swing and laid on the couch and we were both out! However, a very cute little girl that isn't so cute in the mornings came out at 5:30 ready to play. Um, no thanks missy. I like my sleep. So after sending her back to her room twice, she finally crawled up on the couch with me. And then proceeded to fall asleep. I would say how awesome that was except a cute little boy decided he was ready to wake up and eat. I'm not quite sure my kiddos understand just how much I love my sleep! I told Sean I wish we still had Lyla in her crib instead of the toddler bed that way I could at least get a few extra minutes! ;)

When Sean got up this morning, he played "personal trainer" and we worked out together. I am mixing running (I started the Couch 2 5k again), insanity, and weight lifting. As sore as I am, I feel great and sleeping better and I've already lost 2 lbs in 4 days. I have a lot more to go, but feel good with the progress so far. And I'm so ready to get back into shape!

Here are our babies this morning watching us workout! ;) Love them!! And for the record, I don't think they look anything alike! And also, Sean dressed Lyla in her pj's and they don't match! ;)

Sean and Lyla headed to church today while Cohen and I stayed home so I could get some work done. I'm WAY behind and have clients patiently waiting for their pretty pictures! And I've managed to get a ton done. It's amazing what you can get done without a toddler running around!

Funny story, when Lyla came out of her room from her nap she saw the TV and saw the Steelers on there and starting screaming football over and over again and cheering. This girl LIVES for football it seems. It's sooo cute! Love that sweet girl! OH, and I also taught her to stick her finger in her mouth and make a gagging face whenever someone mentioned the Chiefs! It's sooo cute! ;) Go Steelers! (Even though they lost and the Chiefs actually won one!)

Mr. Max

Earlier this week Miss Lyla and I sported our Max shirts in honor of Max turning 6 months this week.

These are the shirts from the softball tourney for Max! I wasn't able to wear mine before now so I was able to get into it just in time! Kelci called Max a turtle, hence the turtle on the shirt!

We miss Max and I know I think about him all the time. I know he's happy and whole up in heaven and that makes me happy knowing that. But I still miss him to pieces.

But with that, I do have good news that I haven't posted yet.

Max is going to be a BIG brother! Kevin and Kelci are expecting again!!! She is due April 2nd, I think?!?! I couldn't be more excited for them and can't wait to have another nephew or niece! They are finding out this time and I can't wait! So excited!! ;) I'm secretly hoping for another boy so Cohen will have another boy cousin to play with since they will be about 7 or 8 months apart! But really, a healthy baby is all I care about it!

Aunt Andrea loves you Max! (And so does Uncle Sean, Lyla and Cohen! ;) )

Happy 6 month birthday Max!!

Lately

So I stunk at blogging regularly once again so here's another catch up. I can't remember where we were going when we took this picture, but they both look so cute!

The new man in my life... how sweet is he! How cute are the little shoes!

We also went to another FHSU game. It started raining in the 3rd quarter so we had to leave and unfortunately they lost by 2 points at the end of the game.

Miss Abi celebrated her 7th birthday! It's so crazy my sweet niece is 7 already! She had a soccer game on her birthday, so Lyla, Cohen and I went and cheered her on!

Cohen was quite enthusiastic!

Last Friday was homecoming for Victoria. Aunt Nee, Abi and Avery came over to watch the parade that goes right by our house. I think it lasted all of 5 minutes. Lyla was scared of it at first since it started off with the fire trucks and police car and they kept turning on their sirens. So she hid on the porch.
Hiding from the parade! ;) But then she realized there was candy and she wasn't scared any more!

Last night, Lyla and Cohen took a bath together. Lyla's new thing is to float on her back whenever she's in the tub.

Today this little someone is 6 weeks old. Super sad face. I can't believe it's been 6 weeks already! He's doing good and is weighing around 9 1/2 lbs. His baby acne is starting to go away so his skin is looking much better. He hasn't smiled for us yet, but he's a serious soul it seems, so he's probably holding out. He's also sleeping about 1 5-6 hour stretch at night and we are working on getting a little schedule going.
He looks so cute in this picture wearing a polo and plaid shorts. Love it!

I had my 6 week OB appointment today and so Brenda came over to watch the kiddos so I could get some work done and go to my appointment. Lately Lyla has been calling both grandma's mom, which drives me nuts. So today, we got Lyla to call her Mimi. And it's stuck. She called her that numerous times, so hopefully that's fixed.
And that has been the last week or so! ;)

Park and Mom's Club get together

I'm almost afraid to blog this, but Mr. Cohen slept for.... drum roll.... 8 hours last night. Um, holy stars, that was amazing! Of course, I didn't get that much as I was periodically checking on him but still, it was better than the previous few nights. I'm sure he'll give me a run for my money tonight. ;) I probably just jinxed myself!

Anyways, he woke up at 5:45 and after nursing him, I decided to just get up for the day. I'll admit it was nice to get a few things done around the house without Lyla 2 steps behind me! I got clothes put away, dishes put away, beds made, and the living room picked up. I also managed to edit a session before she woke up. Of course, come 11:30 I was exhausted. Mr. Cohen also had another first... he slept in his crib for his afternoon nap!

This morning, by 8:00 we were already on the way out of the house to go on a walk. It felt great to get out but I still feel worn out. We did make a stop by the park for a bit and then the rest of the day was pretty much spent on the couch! For some reason, the past few days I've felt achy, tired, etc, kinda like the flu, but it only lasts a little bit and then starts to get better but not great. So I've been trying to take it easy as not to get sick!!!

Tonight we headed to Sonic for my Mom's Club Family Night out. It was a cute little get together and Miss Lyla got to play in sand, which she loves! I'm thinking the girl needs a sand box next year.

And lastly, here's a video to prove that Miss Lyla is not a Chiefs fan! She loves her some Steelers! ;)

Police Station

This morning we met with my Mom's Club at the Hays Police Station. I know Lyla got nothing out of it, but I enjoyed getting a tour! Lyla was in rare form and quite crabby and so she didn't enjoy anything about it. She LOVES cars/trucks and wouldn't go near the police car! Even with all of the buttons and gadgets!

Cohen hung out in the sling and slept the whole time! :)
Afterwards, we went by Sean's work for them to meet Cohen and then headed to Wal-mart for groceries. After that, we picked up lunch and met Sean at the park for a date! ;)

Football weekend!

Our past weekend was spent watching football! We are definitely a football family around here! We headed to watch FHSU play again Southwest Baptist Saturday night. It was a really good game until the 3rd quarter when it started misting which turned into raining and so we had to leave. And unfortunately, the tigers just barely lost! Great game, Tigers.

Watchn' the game! She LOVES football. And I think the word loves is an understatement.

And earlier in the day it was a Rock Chalk Saturday around here! Which means the 8ft Jayhawk gets put up and we all wear KU! Lyla is still pretty scared of it up close, but likes it from a distance. Cohen was sleeping so he missed out on the pictures!

And then Sunday, the Chiefs got their tails kicked. Just got kicked, but actually spanked! And well the Steelers won! Just sayin'! ;) And I taught Lyla a neat little trick, I guess you can call it that. Whenever she hears the word Chiefs she says Boooo and whenever she hears Steelers she puts her hands up and yells Wahoooo!!! ;) Love her! I'm thinking she'll be a Steelers fan and Cohen will be a Chiefs fan. House divided around here!

Cohen {1 month}

I can not believe I gave birth to this cutie 1 month ago... time stinkn' flies. Why is it that it takes forever for the baby to get here and then times just flies by!?

- You weighed 8 lbs 5 oz at 3 weeks old, so I would guess you are just under 9 pounds.
-Newborn clothes fit you perfect and you are starting to semi-fit into 0-3 months.
-You are in newborn diapers and I think I'm going to start up with cloth diapers here soon.
-Your nicknames are Co, Coco, and daddy calls you Co bo!

-You were sleeping amazing from the time you got home but the past 2 days you have been up every 3 hours or so. When we got home from the hospital you were sleeping in 5 1/2 -7 hours stretches. I'm hoping you start that back up again soon!
-You have good sleep/awake periods during the day.
-You are a calm baby for the most part. But if you are super tired or over hungry then you let us know!
-Your fussiest part of the day is in the evenings. We've started giving you some gripe water just to see if that helps you some.

-You nurse about every 2 1/2 -4 hours. You are not really good at taking a bottle and it takes you forever to down 4 ounces.
- The swing has been a life saver for us. It calms you down most times if you get fussy.
- You absolutely refuse to take a pacifier even if I've begged you over and over.
-You have crazy hair in the back and none in the front. You also have baby acne pretty bad right now.

-You had a blocked tear duct for the first few weeks but it seems like it has cleared up.
-Your big sister ADORES you!
- Tummy time is going pretty good and you don't mind it for short periods. You love to sit upright more than laying down so you can check out what's going on.
-You are not really tracking things yet, but I'm sure it'll be soon.

-My guess is you will be a very laid back, serious and calm baby.
-We don't really know who you look like, but I see your Uncle Kevin in you a lot.
- You've already attended your first KU game! ;) Daddy has high hopes you'll be a KU (and a Chiefs, yuck) fan! I'm just hoping you love the Steelers! ;)

Happy 1 month baby boy! We love you so much and couldn't imagine life without you. You've made our lives just that much more complete!

I got the monthly tie stickers here.
If you wanted to compare between Lyla and Cohen monthly posts, her 1 month post is here.

The doctor is in...

The doctor came to visit us yesterday. Dr. Lyla that is! She got this doctor kit for her birthday and has played with it non-stop the last 2 days. She always wanting to check our blood pressure or take our temps! She's a great little doctor!

Cohen had a few firsts yesterday. his first time in a 3 month outfit that semi-fit him. And he also got to hang out in this little contraption for the first time as well. I'm sure he just loved it! He's getting so big! I can't believe he will be 1 month on Sunday!

These pictures aren't great, but too cute not to share!

blog break

I haven't blogged in forever, which is pretty obvious if you read my blog regularly! And I really don't have a good reason! We've been busy, but I've been lazy with getting a post up. So here's a catch up....

We went to the KU opener football game and also the FHSU football opener game at the beginning of the month! We love football around here!

Cohen is doing awesome! We had his 1 month appt early, about a week ago, and Mr. Cohen weighed in at 8 lbs 5 oz. I have a little oinker on my hands! ;) And I love it! He's doing so good and it's hard to believe he'll be a month in 3 days!

Lyla is adjusting great to being a big sister. She adores him...too much sometimes! She calls him Baby Co and talks about him all the time or wants to hold him or help with whatever we are doing with him!

I started back to work last week and it felt great, actually! I am truly blessed having the jobs I do. I love being home majority of the time with my babies and I love being able to get out and take pictures!

Sean is doing great as well and is such a great dad. He's mostly with Lyla these days and as he stated, "She's more fun". So I get the poopy diapers and feeding and Sean gets to play! ;)

And that is our lives right now. Back to regular blogging tomorrow!

Happy Labor Day

We have had a wonderful holiday day, today. I'm not feeling the best, super worn out, so I did what I'm best at... lounge around! ;)

For today I leave a video of Cohen's newborn pictures. Love this sweet boy!
