34 Weeks!

Pregnancy Highlights:
How Far Along: 34 Weeks
Size of baby: Baby Jay is about 4 3/4th lbs and 18 inches long, about the size of a cantaloupe.

Total Weight Gain/Loss: 42 lbs.... from the scale at the doc's I gained 5 lbs in 2 weeks. Sweetness. The problem with this is I probably ate better those past 2 weeks then I did my whole pregnancy!

Maternity Clothes: Mostly pants and some shirts.

Gender: A baby boy...and I keep thinking, "What am I going to do with a boy!?!" :)

Movement: Yuppers, and some of it is getting painful!

Sleep: I've started feeling like I need a nap in the afternoon and I've started sleeping on the couch as I'm much more comfy and it's easier to get up and pee 5 times every night.

What I miss: Margarita's, my skinny jeans, working out, bending over and picking things up.

Cravings: Fruity stuff!

Symptoms: The normal - peeing all the time, braxton hicks contractions all day.

Best Moment this week: Finding out I didn't have gestational diabetes. I also took a few things to get embroidered and I'm excited to get them back!

I had my doc appt. today and everything looks good. I'm measuring right on track for size (even though I feel huge) and his heartbeat was 140! I go back in 2 weeks and then I go weekly!! 42 days!

Just the 3 of us!

This past Saturday Sean, Lyla and I headed to Salina to go to Rolling Hills and do a little shopping! We got there about 11 and ate a picnic lunch before heading in. We debated over taking the tram or walking and ended up walking. Let's just say I'm surprised Baby Jay is not here! Besides it being hot, there were a bunch of big hills. It took us about 2 hours, but we had a good time! They had just about every safari animal except elephants.

Someone was a bit tired afterwards! :)

After that we headed to Salina and did some shopping. Sean went to the Running Company and got fitted for new running shoes and had a running analysis or something like that. We then went to my favorite places, Hobby Lobby and Target! :) Oh how I wish Hays had both of those! After shopping we met up with Tyler and Kayla and had dinner at the Japanese steakhouse! I love it there... sure I could eat it at least once a week!

And that was our last family of 3 outing. Most of our weekends are packed until Baby Jay arrives. It's hard to believe that we'll be a family of 4 in a short 7 weeks! :)

Prairiesta 2011 Part 2

After breakfast, Sean, Lyla, Brenda, Nana, Sonya and I headed downtown Russell to check out the rest of Prairiesta. We went through some of the downtown stores on Main and visited some of the events they had going on.

We also went to a hay shredding thing and saw some old, old tractors! Here is us girls!
We also visited the park for a bit. I've always told Sean I was a princess! :)
And so is Miss Lyla! :)
They also had a little set up of carnival rides. I wasn't sure how Lyla was going to do but she was super excited to do it! Then after a minute on the ride, she wanted off! We asked her if she wanted to go on another ride and she was all excited. But after a minute or two again, she cried and was ready to get off!

Miss Sonya was all ready for Prairiesta and had 3 outfits for the weekend! A ton of people and families dressed up like this. Sean and I did not! :)

We ate over there and Sean visited the beer garden a time or two! We got to see some of Sean's friends and hung out with Sonya and Ryan! Miss thing was tuckered out by the end! We spent about 15 hours in Russell that day!

The next day I had a wedding to shoot, so Sean took Lyla back over to Russell for the parade!
Miss Sonya and Ryan!
Bob Dole made an appearance!
The girls!

Lyla and Sonya in their get ups! Lyla wore her grandma's dress from when she was about the same age that Aunt Ruth made! I think it is about 50 years old or something like that!
Grandma and Lyla!

And that folks, wraps up Prairiesta 2011! Next time we partake in it, Lyla will be almost 12!!!

33 weeks

Pregnancy Highlights:
How Far Along: 33 Weeks

Size of baby: Baby Jay is a little over 4 lbs & 17 inches or so! He's about the size of a pineapple! Yum!

Total Weight Gain/Loss: 41 lbs! Eeeek!

Maternity Clothes: A mixture of both.

Gender: A sweet boy! :) the more I think of it, I'm not so sure what I'm going to do with a boy! :) I'm too used to girls!

Movement: He moves ALL the time.

Sleep:I sleep better than I did when I was pregnant with Lyla!

What I miss:Margarita's, my skinny jeans, working out, bending over easily!

Cravings: Fruit and steak.

Symptoms: Lately, I'm losing energy. I get out of breath a lot faster and chasing Lyla gets tougher. I truly wish Sean could be pregnant so he could see what I'm going through! This pictures sums up how I feel! :)

Best Moment this week: Going on our last family of "3" outing (more on that later) and getting a few more things for the cutie!

Only 7 weeks or 48 days to go! Even though, I feel I'm going a week late!

I'm doing my 3 hour glucose testing today and so I'll be completely worn out by the time I get home. Hopefully I pass and don't have to worry about anything else. I truly don't feel like I would have gestational diabetes, but I guess we'll find out!

------------------
Oh the dreaded 3 hour glucose test. It wasn't miserable, but it wasn't fun. I feel like I'm a pro at getting my blood drawn. But the whole process totally wore me plum out. I ran errands between the hour draws and by the end Lyla cried every time I took her out or put her in the car! We finished the morning with Jimmy Johns with Sean and headed home for much needed naps. So.... hopefully I pass and don't have to worry about any of that anymore. I'm pretty sure I passed so I'm not too worried about it.
While I was running errands, we stopped at Phaze 2 here in Hays and I'm excited that they'll be able to embroider a bunch of things for Little Brother! I had tried to get things embroidered for Lyla before she was born, but the lady stiffed me with the stuff so I'm going through a business this time! Super excited! I also got one of the outfits for Lyla's 2 year pictures in the mail today. It's a red lace romper and I HEART it. It's way diva-ish and it's going to be perfect for pictures. I'm also hoping to do a few maternity pictures next week as well. I may just have her wear it for those too! Well that sums up the day... I think an ice cream sandwich is in my future! :)

Happy Daddy's Day, Daddy!
I heart you a whole lot!

Thanks for playing horsie with me and for making me laugh over and over again!

Thanks for being the best daddy in the whole world and for loving me all of the time! :)

I'm pretty sure I'm wrapped around your finger and I plan to keep it that way!
I LOVE YOU!

Lyla {21 & 22 months}

Really? 22 months? Oh my. This has all gone way to fast. If you pay any attention to our monthly posts, you may have noticed I missed her 21 month post due to our crazy May. So this is a combo post! And for now...without pictures. I haven't taken a picture of the girl in quite some time. Shocking... I know!

- You weigh about 22.5 - 23 lbs.
- You are in size 18 month clothes.
- Wear a size 3 diaper or cloth.
You wear size 4 shoes.
-You've been sleeping really weird lately. You normally go down between 8:30 and 9:00 and get up anywhere from 7:30 - 8:30. The other day you slept until 10! I think you were a bit worn out!
-You nap anywhere from 1-2 hours. Most of the time it is 1 hour... mama misses those 2 hour naps!
- You are still a pretty good eater.
-On a good day you can match your colors but won't say what color it is. But most of the time all you will say is blue.
-Your favorite number is 2. You say that number all the time and won't even try to say any other numbers. That makes teaching you your numbers pretty hard!
-You call daddy "dad" and me either mommy or mom. I prefer mommy. Mom makes you sound like your 16 already.
-You know all your body parts and can point them out on other people too.
-You will try to repeat almost anything. Some words are much clearer though than others. You are also starting to make 2-3 word phases here and there.
-For the word water, you say blablabla like your blowing bubbles in the water. We can not get you to say water for the life of us! For TV, you say T. When you are hungry, you say I'm yummy instead of hungry.
- You love to try to put on random pieces of clothing.
-You also love to put random things on Reesie too. She is also your bff still. Puppies are the love of your life!
- The first two things you say in the morning after you wake up is I'm yummy and where's reesie.
- You say No to everything! Very rarely will you say yes unless we prompt you. Even if its something we know you want to do, you'll probably say no.
-You LOVE being outside. Most evenings I'll find you and daddy swimming in your pool, feeding the dogs, digging in the dirt, mowing or playing golf. This all makes your daddy so happy!
-You've become a monkey the last 2 months. You want to climb on most things but have yet to jump off of anything.
- You still suck your thumb and any chance I get, I tell you to get it out.
- You've also stopped taking your blankie with you around the house. We only give it to you if we know we'll be away from the house and you might fall asleep. Just makes it a little easier.
-You are a water bug! You love to blow bubbles and kick your feet. Your still a little timid with the slides but overall you love water. Any chance to play in water (even the toilet) makes you happy! (Since I wrote this you haven't wanted to spend anytime in the water and if we go to the pool, after a few minutes you say I'm done and want to leave.)
-You say thank you all the time and at the correct times. You'll say please if we prompt you.
-You are getting better at stairs. You will now use the opposite foot as you go up.
- Whenever we drive by fast food places, you say your yummy or that you want piz (pizza).
-You know the sounds of monkeys, puppys, cows, and ducks.
-You still love books and puzzles!
-You are very, very independent.

Mosquito's

Apparently, mosquito's LOOOVE Lyla. So far I've counted 16. Yup. 16 bites. It's a great look for her (sarcasm) as they are all over her arms, face, neck and shoulders. I think only 1 or 2 on her legs. She also has gotten 2 HUGE ones on her back and one on her belly button. We are afraid that the one on her belly button is actually a spider bite as it's swelling all around her belly button and hurts her where none of the mosquito bites have bothered her in any way. So I'm waiting on a call from the doctor to see what we should do. I know there is no way we can keep her inside with how much she loves being outside with her daddy.

That's been about it lately. Hard to believe Lyla will be 22 months tomorrow and that means she'll be 2 in 2 months. Sad face. Positive side is hopefully by that time I'm not pregnant anymore!

Sugar, Sugar, Sugar

Random post. But as I sit here eating peanut butter and whipped icing together, I was informed I failed my glucose test. By 3 frickn' points. I was technically supposed to do the glucose test at around 26 weeks. Yes. I'm 32 weeks now. So I was a bit late. But now I get to go to the lab place next Monday and spend ALL morning there to get my blood drawn. Sweetness! Also, they informed me that I was anemic, which I already knew from previous lab work from our insurance company. So, there is my exciting news for the day! :)

Prairiesta 2011

So if you're from Russell, Prairiesta is a BIG deal. Way big deal. Like people get excited to dress up like "prairie weeds" like Sonya likes to call them. Think old dresses and bonnets. Prairiesta only happens every 10 years, so this was the year. They started off some of the festivities with a 5k/10k fun run. Pretty much they didn't keep any one's time. Thanks to a handy Garmin, Sean timed his and beat his last 10 K time by almost 3 minutes! He did awesome! He got 3rd overall. His fans (Me & Lyla, his mom and nana and my parents) are so proud of him! We were able to see him run by 4 times, so that was nicer than the Eisenhower race where we got to see him start and finish.

Getting ready to start.

Starting the 2nd loop

Sean finishing the race!

We then headed to Meridy's for breakfast and then spent a total of 15 hours at Prairiesta that day. I don't think I've ever spent so much time in Russell before! But we had a great time. Part 2 to come! (Sean took a lot of pictures, so be prepared.)

32 weeks

Pregnancy Highlights:

How Far Along: 32 Weeks

Size of baby: He's about 4 lbs and 16 1/2 inches long!

Total Weight Gain/Loss: Ugh. 40 lbs!

Maternity Clothes: Mostly bottoms, some tops.

Gender: Baby boy!!! :)

Movement: All the time. He's a mover. I think he moves much more than what Lyla did!

Sleep: For being 32 weeks, I'd say that I sleep pretty good.

What I miss:Margarita's, my skinny jeans, running, working out!

Cravings:Fruit, steak, fried foods. I'm also craving snack cakes again!

Symptoms: Nothing that isn't normal.

Best Moment this week: Meeting with the doula! 8 weeks to go!

Ohmygoodness. 8 weeks to go! We met with our doula last week and I'll be coming up with our birth plan for the next appt! I'm actually kinda excited about giving birth again...weird? We learned lots and got a lot of information I wouldn't have known if I had not met with her!

I also had my appt today. Baby is doing great. He's head down, heartbeat was 130 and according to their records... I gained 10 lbs in 1 month. Sweetness. I start my 2 week appts now, so time is really going to start flying! 8 weeks til little brother is here!!!!!

Random pregnancy note: If you read this blog while I was pregnant with Lyla, you read that Sean wasn't always the best with words. Well, truth be told. He isn't this time either or anytime really. But recently he's gotten a few jabs in on me. The most recent being, we were reinstalling Lyla's car seat and Sean was sitting in it to get it super tight. Well he goes, you know, you could sit in here too since we pretty much weigh the same. Nice, huh?! With Lyla, Sean weighed about 20 lbs more than what he does now, so we weren't close in weight. But now, I'm about 5 lbs away from what he weighs. Ugh.
