Thursday Playdate

Thursday was just overall a great day!

We had our HRC playdate with Miss Kynli and Shannon!

Lyla loved the little kitchen and spent most of her time there! She may just need some little cooking utensils added to her toys!

My parents then came to town to buy new furniture for their living room. So we met them at Semelinos for lunch then headed to Ashley Furniture. I then had a photo session and the rest of the night was spent with Miss Ly!!!

Lyla {14 months}... a couple days late!

Happy 14 months, pretty girl!!!

- You weigh just under 20 lbs.

- You wear mostly 6-12 month clothes still. 9 months fit you perfect, but your fall wardrobe is mostly 12 months and so they are just a bit big.

- You are still in a size 3 diaper and are in cloth diapers about 95% of the time now.

- You still crawl all the time and have yet to take any steps.

- You pull up on everything but have yet to really find your balance.

You sleep from about 8 pm til 7:30 am with 1 nap a day, right after lunch for about 1 1/2 to 2 hours.

- You {love} puppies. Reese is the greatest thing to you!

- You love looking out the front or back door. Especially the back door when the dogs are all out.

- You are getting better at walking with just 1 hand.

- You are still a GREAT eater. You'll eat anything and everything!

- You can say mama, dada, uh-oh, and hi clearly. You like to mimic other things we say but we can't really make anything out.

- You are still biting and are kind of a bully! You do not like it when others take a toy away or grab something you wanted. And you especially hate it when mama gives other kiddos attention.

- You love to throw tantrums. If we tell you no or take something away, you are a full out drama queen. You have your daddy's temperament!

- When we eat supper at night, we always pray before we eat and you've just started putting your hands together to pray too.

- You love love love to give kisses.



- When we tell you to say goodbye, you now automatically blow a kiss.

- You started your first HRC class! I'm hoping the interaction with other kids you don't know will help you become a nicer little girl!

- Its become pretty impossible to get pictures of you by myself. I now need someone to help me to get you to smile! You def. know what the camera is. You even know how to work your little play camera.



-You've yet to get your molars and have 8 teeth.

-You've also started brushing your teeth by yourself and love doing it. If we are ever in the bathroom you always put right to where your toothbrush is kept.

- You still love to suck your thumb.


- You love music! Anytime you hear music, you start dancing.

- Your favorite toys would be your helicopter, any type of ball, or your laugh and learn farm house!

Almost a month ago, my sweet niece turned 6! I can hardly believe that she is 6 already!!! She was born when Sean and I first got together.

I got to get her from school that day and we hung out until Sean got home. Abi wanted to "babysit" Lyla and so she read to her and played and what not. We then had pizza for dinner and then presents!!! Oh to be young again!

Happy Birthday (again), Miss Abi! We love you!

Hello, awesomeness! I think I might be hooked!!!

On another note, today was my first day as a SAHM!!!

I guess it started off with a bang too.... Miss Lyla will be getting tubes sometime in the next few weeks! Poor girl!

Also, I didn't take 1 picture of Lyla today. I really need to work on this! I also have her 14 month post coming soon, need to snap a few of miss thang and then I'll post!

It's that time of year....

The single momming it time of year...

Any guesses about what I'm talking about?

Yup, Seany boy started basketball again.

So that means, I'm single.every.wednesday. EVERY. Wednesday.

He's hardcore about his pick up basketball. I think he's channeling his younger days with it.

Last year he hurt his wrist, elbow, knee and ankle. Now that I'm home we no longer have an accident policy on him. So please pray he remembers that he is 32 and no longer 18. Maybe this year he won't come home each Wednesday with a hurt something or another. mmmmkay?

A day with Lyla

I've been super bad lately at taking pictures.

It's probably the number 1 thing I need to do more now that I'm home.

So yesterday we headed to the park for a bit. Unfortunately since it rained yesterday, everything was pretty much soaked. And since she isn't walking, there isn't too much we can do!

But she sure can crawl super great! :)

Today is my last official day as a part-timer at work! From now on, I'll be working PRN.

You have NO idea how excited I am to be a SAHM! Yay!

HRC Playdate #2

Playdate #2 was a success again. They had this little car out this time and so the girls rode it together! Oh, and ignore the poor quality of the pics. I just used my point & shoot.

I did it.

Well folks, I did it.

I can officially cross something off the ole' bucket list.

I ran my first 5K....without dying! :)

My goal was to finish in 35 minutes and NO walking. Well by the time the day came (Saturday) my goal was to finish in 40 minutes and it was OK if I walked a time or two. I'll be honest. I was freaking the morning of. I didn't sleep worth a darn. My stomach was in knots and my muscles were tight. Sean and I ran a bit to warm up and I was tired just doing a few laps.

However, I did MUCH better than I could of imagined. I finished in 32 mins 8 sec annnnd..... did not walk! I started off feeling like an elephant running since I was tight from being nervous but eventually I relaxed and did OK. I have no shame admitting I'm slow. I'm just proud that I completed my goal!

Here's the standings:
Me: Placed 20th out of 34 in my age group. Overall I finished 45th out of 66 people.

Sean: Finished in 21:24 - got 5th out of 66 people overall and got 3rd out of 10 people for the guys in his age group.

Kevin: Finished in 20:29 and got 2nd in his age group. Overall he got 4th out of the 66 people.

Thanks so much to my brother for running it with us along with my SIL Kelci, Mom and my dad for coming up and cheering for us! Love you guys!

And also, props to my friend Shannon for doing an awesome job as well! We started training about the same time with the goal in mind of running this race together! Proud of you dear.

Since I've been home, I'm been {VERY} bad at taking pictures of miss lyla. It's like she is 1 now and I don't document near as much as I used too.

I need to work on that. For now, here's 2 I took of us the other afternoon.

New Adventures

One of the things I've wanted to do the most since I've been home was to get Lyla and I involved in our local rec. Since we are a relatively small town, we don't have a Gymboree or any fun place we can go for classes. So the Hays Rec it was. And I'm gonna admit, I was super excited. I have to say the day was a hit, too.

My friend who also stays at home with her kiddos enrolled her daughter, Kynli in it as well. She's just a few months old than Miss Lyla and I think they are totally bff's. Except for the part where Lyla likes to bite Kynli (and draw blood, oh my).

Climbing on the gym stuff. I really wish I could have taken this home. I googled it and they are *extremely*, out of this world expensive. So if anyone has one they want to give me, go for it! :)

I'm also watching her kiddos on Thurs. morning while she volunteers in her oldest son's class and and so her other son and I had some fun with the pics. Unfortunately, most of them didn't turn out, but this is of our funny faces.

We are quite funny, aren't we! Haha!

We are enrolled for a total of 4 or 5 classes and if we like it, then we'll be doing it again in the winter. And after this session, we might be enrolling in a few more!!

I'm loving being able to do this with Lyla and it is also so great having another SAHM that I get to do these activites with!
