Happy Father's Day

Happy Fathers Day to 3 great men in Lyla and I's life! We love you! :)

Proof

I thought I'd post proof that Lyla is slightly on the mobile side. No she isn't crawling but she is rolling everywhere. Just recently has she started rolling across the room to get things or scooting backwards on her tummy. Maybe someday this gal will crawl. My guess is she'll crawl by her birthday and she won't be walking until 14 months. Any other predictions?

Since the last post about her being whiny she has managed to suck up the tears some and isn't *as* whiny as before. She's actually been quite funny this afternoon. Her new trick is biting. Yup, I have a biter. She bite me while nursing twice and just today she bite my shoulder. Um...great. I have a feeling she's going to be a diva. :)

Ugh

Sick baby = no fun. Seriously.No.Fun.

The past few days have probably been the hardest parenting days so far for me. Sure I know I have a lot more before me, but right now, it's been hard.

She's whiny. She's clingy. She's snotty. She's coughing. She screams. She hits. She wants NOTHING to do with her daddy (should make for a good 1st Father's Day right?). She won't play. She won't sit. She won't stand. She doesn't want to be held sitting but also doesn't want to be held standing. She wants her mama at.all.times.

Ugh. The house is a mess. I have tons of pictures to edit. I, ahem, have blogs to stalk. Doesn't she understand this? ;) (Totally kidding there).

BUT... I still feel blessed at the same time. I'm lucky and blessed to be her mommy and for her to be in our lives. And I really shouldn't complain because not everyone has that. So... here's to more crying. More snot. More coughs. But also more cuddles and lots more mama and Lyla time.

(A glass (or a bottle) of wine might be needed tonight.)

Happy Saturday!

(FYI, we are battling URI, bilateral ear infections, and the possiblity of asthma.)

Lyla { 10 months }

Seriously? 10 months? Holy Cow!

- Has a doc appt today (more on that later) and still weighed 16 lbs 10 oz. You are a dainty little thing.

- You still wear a size 3 diaper at daycare and cloth diapers at home.

- You eat all table food now and use a sippy cup at daycare! Not more bottles for you!

- You wear 6-9 month clothes even though you'd still fit in 3-6. You also still wear size 1 shoes...you have tiny tiny feet!

- You had your first trip to the lake and wasn't the biggest fan ever! Between being sick and teething, you didn't want anyone but your mama. And you didn't want to do anything buy whine.

- You also got to go swimming for the first time. You love the water!

- You got to go to Lawrence for the first time!! :)

- You are still not crawling but you are mobile in a weird sorta way. You can spin in a circle in 5.2 and can pull yourself from sitting to your hands and knees and back.

- I found you one morning after a nap sitting in your crib. Haven't done it since, and still trying to figure out how you got there.

- Is getting a little better at walking when holding on to our hands. Despises using your little walker toy we have. But you are getting better even though you scream when you use it about 80% of the time.

-Can clap and wave bubye. Also sounds like you are mimicking bubye whenever we say it.

- You love dogs. Any dog will make you smile and laugh! Especially when they give you kisses!

- Loves to give open mouth kisses!

- You still suck your thumb, and it doesn't look like you will be giving that up anytime soon!

- You still take about 3 naps a day - 2 longer ones and 1 mini one. You also go to sleep around 8:30 and wake up around 6:30.

- Now has 4 teeth with a few more trying to break free.

- You are scared to death of the vacuum. You cry like I've never seen before whenever we use it if we aren't holding you.

- You now have enough hair to hold a bow!! You have no idea how excited this makes mommy!

You are seriously the best thing every Miss Lyla! You are so much fun and I've said this before but you are the best thing to happen to your daddy and I! We love you!

Life Unexpected

Wow.

I'm tired. Worn out tired.

We headed to the lake this weekend with our camper for the first time. I can't say we had the best time out there but I probably can't say it was/will be the worst time either. It felt like everything that could go wrong, did. Between the boat not working, Hubby's battery dying on his truck, and rain rain rain mixed in with boredom and a very crabby baby, we still managed to have some fun. But I must say I'm happy to be back. And to be dry.

I got a bunch of cute pics of Miss Lyla at the lake for the first time this summer (her very first time was when she was barely 2 weeks old). Hope you had a wonderful weekend!

Look closely...

Are you seeing what I'm seeing? I can't believe I can *finally* put bows in Lyla's hair without a headband! You have no idea how extremely excited this bow loving mom is! :) Yay!

Day 3: Memorial Day

We had a wonderful Memorial day and hoping you did as well. First off, (even though this is late), a huge thank you to those who have fought for, those fighting for, and those that will be fighting for America. You all deserve the most respect for everything you do for our freedom! Thank you!!!

We didn't do much on Memorial Day. Sean worked outside while Lyla and I enjoyed some sun and pool time. Afterwards we headed to dinner in Russel at Sean's grandparents house. Nice and low key! A great way to finish our 3 day weekend! Hope yours was just as great!

Sean dog Gauge thought he needed to get in the pool with Lyla too...Um, not so much.
Hubbs was spray painting himself and this was the final product. Nice, eh?
The bug swimming in her pool! Can you tell she gets her picture taken a lot?

Happy Memorial Day from Lyla!

Everyone wants to be like Lyla! :)
Abi got to take a ride in papa's spitfire and she was super excited! And this is random, but Lyla's knoggin looks HUGE in this picture!

Ahh...isn't she adorable? I know I'm biased...

Memorial Day weekend Part 2

As promised and with a little reminder from my SIL Kelci, I'm posting about Sunday. Better late then never right?

Sunday was a busy day for us. Seany boy played golf with his bromance and his daddy while I enjoyed the company of Kelci and Kevin. They drove up to see Miss Lyla (they say to see Sean and I too, but for some reason I don't believe em' hehe! :) ) which was super nice of them. We love company so thanks for coming by guys! After they left she napped for a little bit and then we had a play date at our house. Love play dates. I'm a total people person and so play dates are totally up my alley. My friend Shelly and her 4 boys, ahem...yes 4 boys, and my other SIL Renee and my 2 nieces came over. A baby pool, slip-n-slide, sprinkler and this Buzz Light year water toy entertained the tots for quite some while. Hubby and his bromance then joined up for a BBQ. A nice sweet day if you ask me! I love play dates...even if Lyla technically didn't play. All in due time, right?

They *love* Lyla!

My {little} brother and I. Think we look alike? When we were younger people used to think we were twinkies.

Love that smile of hers!

Abi and Corbin sitting in a....hammock? Doesn't rhyme but it was cute!

Dalton was the party pooper of the group!

Oh, Happy Weekend!

Oh how I *heart* 3 day weekends! If only our work weeks were 3 day weekends every weekend! Now wouldn't that be nice! :)

We had lots of celebrating this weekend! We celebrated that our house is now 90% finished with painting (Yippe), Sean's 32nd Birthday, and Memorial day!! So it was a busy weekend for us!

First off, thanks to everyone that helped out with painting our house! We highly appreciate your help and don't take your generosity for granted. We would have never finished it without your help! And mucho thanks to Mr. Hubby for being semi-patient (he despises painting) and for working so hard and diligently. He worked every night til dark on it and hated every minute of it! Thanks stud! It looks a million times better! Now our house isn't as *ghetto* as it was before! :)
Saturday night after we finished painting we headed to Gella's for Sean's Birthday supper! Mmmm. Love Gella's. Then we came home and the boys continued their bromance and I went to sleep. Pretty exciting around here, don't ya think?
Ly-Ly sleeping (noticed the feet crossed?)...We turned our Ac on Saturday evening (and actually already turned it off since it was so cool on Sunday)
The famous Bromance and Lyla
Uncle Jonathan and Miss Lyla!
The birthday boy!
Our little fam!
Who doesn't love a naked baby?

Part 2: Sunday - coming soon! :)
