41 weeks

Pregnancy Highlights:
How Far Along: 41 Weeks
Size of baby: Baby Jay is over 20 inches and 8+ lbs.

Total Weight Gain/Loss: 51 lbs.

Maternity Clothes: Mostly pants.

Gender: Boy!

Movement: Yup! You can make out his feet sometimes and also his knees.

Sleep: It's been pretty good.

What I miss:Margarita's, my skinny jeans, running, getting off the couch, not feeling tired all the time.

Cravings: Fruit, steak, sweets.

Symptoms:Contractions here and there, but nothing that's doing anything.

Best Moment this week:Another good doc appt and knowing there will be an end soon.

At my appt, baby was doing well. His heartbeat was 150. I'm dilated to a 4 and still 80% effaced. I had another non-stress test and he did ok. There will be an end soon! ;)

Miss Lyla was helping out with my bump pictures tonight! They are a little outta focus with our point and shoot, but they'll work. Lyla was showing off her bump too! ;)

A busy weekend...

And I didn't even take 1 picture to document! Oops!

Friday night, we all headed down to Herzogfest. It's a little town tradition and it has SO much great food! :) Since it's a German town, I got to have one of my favs. Dumplings and potatoes...twice! ;) Plus there are sno-cones (love), gator tators, BBQ, etc. I ate ALOT of food. I figure, I'm still pregnant so I might as well enjoy it! Right!? :) We have yet to miss a Herzogfest and don't plan on it anytime soon! It's so fun to go down there and socialize with every one and of course eat the food. And when I'm not pregnant or nursing, it's great to hit the beer garden a time or two, or three.

Saturday, I was completely lazy. We just hung around the house and Sean did a little painting in the house. We hit up Herzog for lunch and dinner! ;) Then that evening, Miss Lyla had a birthday party to attend for her friend Tayla! We had a good time going and catching up with everyone! I love our friends! Then, at 9:30 at night we hit up Wal-mart for groceries and one of Miss Lyla's birthday presents.

And today, I'm exhausted! Sean and Lyla just headed off to church and I'm playing hookie. I was still sleeping on and off as they were getting ready and really had no motivation to get off the couch. Luckily, Miss Lyla finally decided to sleep in til 8:30! Heck ya! Sean and Ly will be hitting up this pool after nap time and that's about it for us today. Sean's hoping I'm going to have this baby today or tonight so he can start his time off! ;) Unfortunately, I don't see that happening. But luckily, it can't/won't be much longer than a week! ;)

It's offical

Our house is up for sale!
Sean's owned this little "bachelor" pad for 8 years, so he's a little sad to see it go. I on the other hand, couldn't be more excited! ;)

She's excited too! :)

So if you are interested (or just want to be snoopy) there will be an ad up on Nex-tech hopefully tonight.

Here's to our house (hopefully) selling!

Difference

I thought I'd want to remember this some day... so here are some likes and differences between my pregnancies.

Lyla:
Waaaay sick. I was a puking unit until about 18 weeks and I gagged over everything from about 13 weeks to 18 weeks.
Had horrible food aversions, barely ate much, but did love mashed potatoes.
Had crazy, vivid dreams in the first trimester (hello babies heads floating in water... yes crazy)
Barely had any heartburn.
Craved fruity stuff and swiss cakes rolls.
Heart rate ranged from the 130's to 15o's.
Got a chipmunk face!
Belly grew more from side to side in the hip area.
Felt miserable most of the pregnancy.
Gained 33 lbs.

Baby Jay
Sick and tired until about 13 weeks. Only gagged about everything until 15 weeks.
Was starving during the first trimester and ate everything I could...esp mashed potatoes.
Have had horrible heartburn and indigestion.
Craved steak and fruit.
Did not get a chipmunk face this time! :)
Heart rate ranged from 140's - 130's
Belly grew mostly straight out.
Gained 51+ lbs
Horrible hip and pubic bone pain.
Much happier this pregnancy.

I'm sure there are more, but these are just a few comparisons!

40 weeks

Happy Due Date, Baby!

How Far Along: 40 Weeks
Size of baby: Baby Jay is about the size of a small pumpkin, about 7 1/2 -8 lbs and 20-21 inches long. He'll gain about a 1/2 ounce to an ounce a day.

Total Weight Gain/Loss: 50 lbs

Maternity Clothes: Mostly pants.

Gender:Sweet boy.

Movement:Yes, but it's slowing down.

Sleep:I actually sleep really well.

What I miss:Margarita's, my skinny jeans, working out, getting off the couch easily.

Cravings: Fruit, flavored ice. sweets

Symptoms:Pubic bone pain, contractions here and there.

Best Moment this week: Making it full term.

At my appt today, Baby Jay's heartbeat was 140 and I'm measuring at 40 weeks. Unfortunately, I didn't have any change in my cervix. Still a 3-4 and 80% effaced. I was really hoping to be a good 4, but that's ok. I had to do a non-stress test, which he finally passed. It took a while as he was a sleepy thing. If I don't have him this week, I go back next Monday. I think my doc thought I'd be having him this week. Sean thinks that as well. I really don't know what I think as I thought I would have had him last week. He'll come when he's good and ready! :) My babies must love my uterus! :)

Overall, the worst thing about the pregnancy has been the heat. Today it was only 73 degrees this morning when I was in town and it didn't wear my out at all. When it's 103 degrees and I'm out and about, I get worn out quick! So, as long as I stay relatively cool, I'll be good as well wait and see when this baby decides it should be his birthday.

Catch up

Still no baby. I'm trying really hard to be patient but it hasn't been working. This dang heat is getting to me. Everything is annoying me, especially the questions, "How much longer", "When are you due?" and "How much longer?".

This weekend we did some DEEP, deep house cleaning. Mucho thanks to my parents and mother-in-law. Our house is in tip top shape for Baby Jay and maybe for the possibility of putting our house on the market. Mums the word on that one though. But I am pretty sure Baby Jay will be super impressed with how clean the house is! :) Then, yesterday evening, Miss Lyla had a birthday party to go to, so Mama got her cake fix on! :) Happy Birthday to Dalty, tomorrow!

Today we enjoyed a nice little morning. Church, Applebee's for some grub, Wal-mart, Home Depot and then the forever favorite, a 2 hour nap. Sean's been outside cleaning up his garage and I've been addressing Lyla's birthday invites. I can't believe my baby will be 2 in 10 days! Eeek! And hopefully before those 10 days, I have another baby in my arms.

Doc appt in the morning and hoping I progressed some more. It be great to be dilated to a good 4. A good 5 would make me even happier. Still being a 3 will make me sad. Get my drift? I can't believe my due date is 1 day away! This pregnancy has gone pretty dang fast!

Emotions & Prayers

My head and heart are full of emotions today. Maybe part of it has to do with the rainy day today (but thank you for the cooler weather!).

My sweet Max has been on my mind a lot lately, especially with our own sweet boy arriving any day...(please come soon, son!). To be honest, he's (Max) on my mind a lot and most evenings I find myself falling asleep thinking about him. I'm hoping he's with us when Baby Jay is born as I can't help to be nervous or think something could go wrong during the delivery. There are always what-ifs and while I believe everything will be fine, those what-ifs are always a thought (especially being a nurse).

Also, this morning I learned of another little boy name Max who went without O2 and is now intubated. Sean's cousin, Sonya, sent this to me this morning:

i learned last night that my NC roomie's 2-yo nephew choked on a pretzel & was without O2 for 7-8 mins.... he's now in critical condition at the hospital & on breathing tubes. he's not sedated nor is he trying to pull on cords or anything. his MRI indicated no brain activity... my heart is breaking for holly & her family, just as it was for you & yours not long ago. perhaps the saddest part of all this though is that joe & kelly were married & trying to have a baby for 10 years (10 YEARS) before they finally successfully conceived via invitro after 4-5 failed attempts... now, perhaps the most ironic thing about all this is that holly's nephew's name is max; therefore, i couldn't help but think of you, kevin, kelci, & the rest of your families... i just felt like i needed to share. i've been praying for joe & kelly to have the strength that kevin & kelci had when they were enduring the most difficult & trying time of their lives... kevin & kelci, as you know, are truly remarkable & absolutely inspiring to so many people on countless levels.

So my heart aches for this family as they are enduring the absolute toughest thing I'm sure they have ever faced. I do not know them personally, but I'm asking for prayers for this family and little boy! I know my family and Kelci's family all appreciated the prayers (and still do) so I'm sure this family would be the same way.

There's much more on my mind, but I'm leaving it at that. Oh, rainy days!

August 2, 2011

Oh my...

Did I choose the wrong summer to be pregnant or what? Holy stars it is hot outside. Which in turn makes my house way to hot on the inside. Our A/C is not keeping up with heat. And well, pregnant women are always hotter than heck, so this makes me horrible. Yesterday, at 10 am, it was 97. I can't even take Lyla outside in the mornings because it is so hot. At least to hot for me. We even tried going on a walk last night at 8:30 and it was still 104. No thank you. Where is fall?

So there is my morning vent. I'm sure there will be an afternoon vent when it is even hotter!
