24 weeks!

Pregnancy Highlights:
How Far Along: 24 Weeks
Size of baby: Baby Jay weighs little over a lb and 12 inches long - about the size of an ear of corn.
Total Weight Gain/Loss: As of this morning, 24 lbs. My guess is I'll be gaining 45+ pounds with this kid. We did eat a whole lotta food yesterday, so hopefully that number will go down in a few days. Numerous people have said they gained more with their 2nd kid and also gained the most with boys. Eek!
Maternity Clothes: Pants and some shirts
Gender: Baby Jay is a BOY! He does have a name and we are so excited! Love it!
Movement:Regularly! Love it! You can also see my belly move now.
Sleep: Sleep is not going well. Recently I have to get up to pee around 5 and then also my hips and arms fall asleep numerous times so I'm always tossing and turning.
What I miss: Being skinny! Ha!
Cravings:Water, fruity stuff, Red Robin (still haven't had that and doubt I will!). Mac & Cheese & steak...but don't worry. Not together!
Symptoms:Crying and peeing all the time, and being hungry 24.7. Otherwise, I'm doing really good!
Best Moment this week: Hitting 24 weeks! Week of viability!
I had my appt with my doc last Friday and things are good. Heartbeat was 150 and I'm measuring right on even though baby is measuring small. I spoke with my doc about how I DO NOT want to be induced this time. He agreed that my due date will probably be around...get this.. August 17th. Anyone know what day that is? That will be our princess's birthday! Ha! But we will worry about all that when I get closer. So I'm guessing even though, I'm 24 weeks, instead of having 16 weeks to go, I probably have 18!

Eisenhower 10K

On Sat, April 9th, Sean ran his first 10K. He's been training for it for a few weeks and I'm so proud of him for accomplishing his goal. He had a goal time of 50 minutes and finished it in 49.40.

We went down on Friday evening, got registered and then stayed with the bromance. I don't think either Sean or I slept much and Miss Lyla didn't feel like sleeping much either! My parents traveled done early in the morning and met us at the race!

Lyla

Getting ready to race...

He's the one in the red in the middle.

Hey, hot runner!

Here he comes! (In the red!)

Crossing the finish line!

We are so proud of you daddy!

Looking at his finished ribbon.

Sean finished 10th overall and finished 1st in his age group! So he did awesome for his first race!

After the race we headed for some breakfast with my parents and then they took Lyla with them for 3 days! It was the first time I've been away from her that long!

After we got ready for the day, we headed to Salina and met up with Ty and Kayla. The boys all went golfing while Kayla and I had a shopping day! Then for supper we headed to a Japanese Steakhouse, which I love going to! Then to finish off the night, we sat out on Ty and Kayla's porch and just chatted! Love them all! We had a great time seeing them all!

My Birthday!

Yup, this lucky lady is officially 27! And I have no shame in getting older, I honestly love birthdays. Cake, presents, birthday love, cards, time with family... love it all! Unfortunately, this birthday was spent sick. Super sick.

I started feeling yucky on my drive home from Wichita on Friday. By Saturday morning, I managed to clean up and hang out with the fam but wasn't feeling so hot at all. We did go out to eat at Gella's for supper which was yummy. Would have been more fun if I could have enjoyed a lemon ale or two! :)

By Sunday (my birthday) it was full on sickness. I.felt.like.death. We were planning on having a bbq with my and Sean's family but that didn't happen as I didn't feel like spreading my sickness. Your welcome, family. However, my parents had to come up to Hays anyways for some stuff so they stopped by and ate supper with us and entertained Lyla. A happy birthday tune and some cake later, and I was in bed! Happy Birthday to me, huh? :)

My cake! This is actually the first time Sean got me cake that I enjoyed. Every year he gets something I don't like (not on purpose, I don't think :) ). The first year he got a chocolate cake with chocolate icing with chocolate topping. Sound good? Yeah, maybe if I like chocolate! :) The following year he got me a yellow cake with butter cream icing. Not a huge fan of yellow cake or butter cream icing. But this year he did good. White cake with whipped icing. My fav! And decorated in pink was a plus! :)I so don't look great in this picture but I had to have a picture with my girl on my birthday. Swollen face and red nose - thank you sinus infection.
Daddy and Ly got a much cuter picture! Love my two lovies!

And that wraps up birthday 2011! Hopefully next years I won't be sick! :)

Thanks to everyone for the phone calls, cards, texts and facebook messages!

I'll do a full post tomorrow, but I just want to say I am so proud of Sean! He completed his first 10K! He beat his goal time, got 1st in his age division and got 10th overall out 97 runners. I can not say enough how proud of him I am! Way to go babe! So proud and love you tons!

Big guilt

My mom guilt is getting even bigger! I am still miserably sick and it's driving me nuts. I really thought I'd be feeling better by now! I've watched more Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and a mixture of other things, than I want to. It's beautiful out and all the sun does to me is give me a huge headache. I know I sound like I'm whining, but I'm tired of being sick. I want to be better so I can see Sean race this weekend. At least Lyla is going with her granna and pops for a few days so I can get caught up on the photographer guilt. But right now, the mommy guilt is at a huge high. Sigh...

I think it's a bad sign when my daughter literally brings my shoes to me and tries to put them on me. Right?

22 weeks and Guilt

Pregnancy Highlights:
How Far Along: 22 Weeks Size of baby: Baby Jay weighs about 1 lb and 11 inches long - about the size of a spaghetti squash.
Total Weight Gain/Loss: 17 lbs - lost 2 lbs this week with being sick
Maternity Clothes: Pants and some shirts
Gender: Baby Jay is a BOY! Movement:Regularly! Love it! Sleep: I'm sleeping pretty good! What I miss: I really want a margarita! Cravings:Water, fruity stuff, Red Robin Symptoms:Crying and peeing all the time. Otherwise, I'm doing really good! Best Moment this week: Meeting baby Max and getting Lyla's new toddler bed and bedding!

On the down side, I'm sick. Super sick. Pretty sure I have bronchitis and a horrid sinus infection as the left side of the face hurts. And probably an ear infection on top of that. I'm off to the doctor here in a bit so hopefully I'll get some relief. I felt like death yesterday and feel slightly better today minus my face hurting which is so bad I can't even sleep.

I was supposed to have my 22 week appt but had to cancel so no updated info on baby jay as of right now. And right now, I'm full of guilt. Mommy guilt, wife guilt, photographer guilt (is that possible?). I can barely function so the past 2 days Lyla has watched way more TV than I'd like. I'm not big on TV for kids so I'm struggling with that. Sean cleaned the whole house yesterday which was a disaster from Lyla getting into everything while I laid on the couch, so I feel bad about that because I'm sure that's not what he felt like doing (he's trying to fight getting sick too). And I'm so overwhelmed with photography stuff right, it's crazy. I have a list a mile long but not the slightest bit of energy to move. It's definitely hard being a sick, pregnant mom of a toddler.

I'm ready for healthy days!

ETA: I was right! Bronchitis, severe sinus infection and left ear infection. Hoping this medicine works soon as I'm ready to feel better!

Mr. Max

I have a nephew!!!
And I'm really stinkn' excited!

Introducing Maxton Foster Burkey!
(They tricked us! He really has been Max all along!)

I got the call from my brother at 7 am Thursday (the 31st) saying that Kelci was admitted and that it was baby day! I was going to try and go back to sleep but wasn't able to so up and at em' for me. I was ready and packed and on my way out of town by 8:37. We rolled into Wichita at 11:30, got lunch and then lunch for Kevin and headed up to the hospital.
Kelci was taking a nap so Kevin, I and Ly played in the waiting room for a bit.

After a bit, we headed into see the Mama-to-be. An epidural later and she was doing great! My parents arrived a little later and we waited...

I figured shopping would be a great way to pass the time so I headed to the mall for a bit until I got the call she was ready. By the time I was back to the hospital I probably only had to wait 15 or 20 minutes before Kevin came out and said...

It's a boy!!!

What?!?! I actually have a boy cousin now?

They had some bonding time and so Mom, Dad and I headed to Olive Garden for supper! The baby had been craving that for a long time! :)
When we got back, we got to meet baby Max!
Granna, Kevin and Max

Love baby feet!

Pops and Max

Lyla LOVED him! She kept fist bumping him and pointing out his eyes, ears, and belly. She wanted to be wherever the baby was!

I finally got to hold my nephew! I'm his favorite aunt! :) (And only, so I'm allowed to say that!)

Family Picture! Love this one!

Going to the postpartum room.

The next day, we were up to visit them again and then went and did some shopping with my brother for the going home outfit!
Lyla loves her uncle to pieces and loves baby Max. She said his name once, but mostly just calls him baby...or puppy. Ha!

Daddy diaper changing!

LOVE this picture of him and Max!

Then we had to say goodbye. Tear. We miss them all already!

But they are home and doing great! :)
Like I said, so excited to have a sweet nephew now! Whenever my brother and I went shopping we had the hardest time finding boy clothes. Kelci and I both have similar tastes and aren't big on puppies, or trucks, etc on boy clothes so it took some work to find some cute things! Now I can't wait to shop for him more!

Congrats Kevin and Kelci! We love you!
