A random day

Sometime in October, Miss Avery stayed with us for a bit. The girls either love each other or they love to bicker.
Total rock star. This picture cracks me up!
A favorite of my kiddos is when I pull Cohen's mattress out and they get to jump all over it! They love it! And it keeps them preoccupied for more than 5 minutes!

Apparently, this day, our ottoman was a stage. And for the record, I must of been super nice, because Lyla never gets the chance to climb on the furniture.
 Love these guys! :)

Baby shower

I think I mentioned once that I'm going to be an Aunt again come December!  Sean's sister and brother-in-law will be having a little boy! :)  They already have their 2 girls so they are super excited for a sweet boy! Though, if he is anything like his cousin Cohen, he's gonna be a handful! :)

I didn't do a true theme but instead just did colors of orange, turquoise and green. And of course some chevron! I made (with the help of Sonya!) a banner and loved how it turned out!
We also made a motorcycle diaper cake and and it turned out so cute! Thanks Pinterest!
I just did little foods and cupcakes! We had hummus and pita chips, corn salsa, and fruit kabobs.
Cookie favors for the guests! So cute!
 The burlap sign! Love it!
That's about all I got for pictures, though. Throwing a shower and being the photographer wasn't the easiest!  Renee got lots of cute things and lots of practical things, though! :) Now, the little man, just needs to come! :) Aunt Andrea is super excited to meet you! :)

More Halloween tricks

The week before Halloween, the kiddos painted some pumpkins. Or colored them with crayons for Cohen.  Him and paint would not mix. Lyla likes to paint every ounce of whatever it is that she is painting so her pumpkin turned out black! (As did her pumpkin from preschool!)

Cute halloween shirts and lots of hugs! :) Haha. This makes me laugh!
The Monday before Halloween, we carved our pumpkins. We kept it to simple faces this year.  Lyla enjoyed getting all the guts out of the pumpkins with me while Daddy carved. And Cohen make ruckus all around the house! :) Ha!
I love her! And for the record, she would have done all of this naked but I insisted she at least put on pants. She loves to be naked! (Random fact: Almost every night she takes off her pants and undies whenever she is sleeping).
Cohen doing what he does best - pushing all the buttons on the dishwasher while Lyla and Daddy are working!

The Tuesday before Halloween, Lyla had a fall party at school! They got to paint pumpkins, play pumpkin bowling and also a jack-o-lantern water game! She had so much fun! I got to come and help the class and enjoyed it so! I've waited a long time to be able to do this and love the fact that I get to stay home with my kiddos to do all of this and not miss out! Makes me super happy!

Our finished pumpkins! Lyla picked out the littlest pumpkins for Piper! :)

Pumpkin Patch

In October, we headed to the pumpkin with the kiddos and Sonya.  Lyla loved having Sonya there and I think Sonya enjoyed hanging out with us too!  I had shirts made for the kiddos and LOVED how they turned out! So cute!

This is by far the best family picture we've taken minus our professional family pics. It normally doesn't look like this! Ha!

He enjoyed playing in the dirt!
This year she rode the tram by herself. Made me kinda sad! :( She's getting to big!

 Off to get our pumpkins!

We had such a good time and a beautiful day to go! Later on, we went and ate with Sonya and Nana in Russell!! Love family time!

Trick or Treat night ::Halloween 2012 ::

This year, Lyla was excited for Halloween in September. It was quite a long month! They day of Halloween, when she came home from the sitters, she goes, is TODAY the day we go trick or treating? :) She's been slightly excited!
She had been asking to be Spiderman for Halloween. Well, I'm to much of a girly girl to allow such nonsense, so after much deliberation, we settled on Spider girl.  She's got her spider part of it and I got the pink! :)

Abi and Avery came over before they went to their church party so we could get some pictures and see them in their costumes. Obviously, Cohen isn't in his costume, but this year we had Clark Kent, a dancer, Spider girl and Spider woman (per Avery).

 Silly girls!

In their costumes. Cohen's costume was by far my favorite! I loved how it turned out, just wish he would have kept the glasses on! It made the costume!

This girl loved trick or treating and "got" it this year. She kept pointing to houses she wanted to go to and would have gone to every house if we would have let her. We stopped by a few friends in town and even went to our old neighbors and the old house!
I wish I would have gotten a picture of their buckets. They tuned out super cute!

So yeah...

It's been entirely way to long since I've blogged. Way longer than any other break I've ever taken. So I have LOTS of catching up to do. I still have Cohen's party to blog, his 14 month post, KU game, etc. The list goes on!

Here's quick updates:
Me, myself and I: I'm extremely busy with clients this fall and definitely the busiest I've ever been. And I may not be so great at managing that and being a wife and momma. Struggling majority of the time, but the busy season is slowly winding down and hopefully a new normal will start soon.

Sean: His knee is getting better everyday and he's feeling good. He even said he felt like he could run on it, which the doctor said he would think that. But NOT to run on it! So he's riding his bike (a tri bike he recently bought) and enjoys doing that! He's super sad that KU and the Chiefs are playing horribly this year!

Lyla: She's a little spitfire these days and is becoming sassier by the day. She's testing her boundaries which is always interesting. She still LOVES dance class and loves her preschool class as well! She'd must rather be at 1 of those 2 places than at home!

Cohen: Oh my, the best way to summarize him is: a hot mess. We may call him that to often as Lyla has picked up on that and likes to play mom with him and tells him he's a hot mess when he gets in trouble! :) He's into everything and anything and tires me out daily. I have no idea where he gets his energy! No words yet, though we did finally get the m sound out of him! He had a speech eval (more on that later) so hopefully he'll start talking soon!

And that's it as of now! :)

Lately

I really haven't had much to blog lately as we really haven't done much! Sean's ACL has kept us at home for the most part. We did have a bowling night with some friends of ours. Lyla had lots of fun!  I forgot my shoes and had to buy some awesome socks at the bowling alley with bowling pins on them! Ha! Other than that, I've been swamped with photographing weds and families as fall is always the busiest time!

Sean's knee is doing better but it is a slow process. He's slowly getting off his crutches (hopefully by tomorrow) and so that will be nice - for him and me! He is a huge asset around the house so I definitely miss his help! I'm pretty sure he's going to have a HUGE honey do list for when he is better! He gets to ride his bike for short amounts of time - which is great for him as he doesn't like to sit still.

Lyla is so funny right now! She is just a sponge, soaking up so much stuff! She is doing great with preschool and is becoming quite the dancer. Tap is her favorite and we hear clickity clack quite often. She's also picking up on things we say. Example: When our dog does something bad and Sean complains about it and I always say "Calm down she is just a puppy". Well the other day I yelled at Piper for something she did and Lyla pipes in with, Calm down mom, she's just a puppy! :) Oh, I love her. If only I was better at writing down the cute, funny things she says. Add that to my to-do list. She's also midly confused as to which football team she loves. It depends who is her best friend that day or if she wants something.  If she wants something from me, she likes to tell me I'm her best friend and that she loves the Steelers. It changes often. Hopefully she'll grow up cheering for the better team. That would of course be the Steelers!

Cohen is quite the climber these days. Still no talking but will be starting speech here soon. He's smart as can be though and follows directions so well. He loves his sister to pieces and is just a little ham! Life is never dull with him around. His new favorite thing is to try and take the halloween clings off the door. He also loves to throw things away especially things that do not need to be thrown away! :)

So our lives our full and we are blessed! :)
