4 years later... Part 1

6 years ago, I met the man I would marry. But little did I know that at the time. I was a naive collage student who met a divorced (didn't know it at the time), country boy at a house party! I kinda lied to him that night and told him I liked to fish. He believed me and he proposed right then and there. He swooned me for 8 months until he broke my heart...or I broke his, depends who you ask! :)

Almost a year later to the date, we met up at the Stadium club to watch a KU game and to watch the Steelers win the Super Bowl. And that began our true love story. 8 months later he gave me my Christmas present, Miss Reese. She was a fake gift and little did I know, 2 months later I'd be getting my real gift! My engagement ring!

A little over 6 months later, we were husband and wife. I made it easy on him. 07.07.07. Can't get much easier than that!

We honeymooned to Florida, bought a vehicle, traveled to numerous KU games, bought a boat, laked it up a time or two and vacationed in South Carolina before we welcomed our sweet girl! Just a little over a month after our 2 year anniversary!

We have been blessed in many, many ways since then! And I can't see what other ways we'll be blessed in the years to come! Happy 4 year anniversary, bub!

35 weeks

Pregnancy Highlights:

How Far Along: 35 Weeks
Size of baby: Baby Jay is over 5 lbs and over 18 inches long, about the size of a honeydew melon.

Total Weight Gain/Loss: roughly 45 lbs.... I almost want to have a 20 lb child so to get rid of the baby weight faster! :)

Maternity Clothes: Mostly pants and some shirts.

Gender: A baby boy

Movement: Not as much as he's getting bigger! And some of it hurts!

Sleep: I've started feeling like I need a nap in the afternoon and I've started sleeping on the couch as I'm much more comfy and it's easier to get up and pee 5 times every night.

What I miss: Margarita's, my skinny jeans, working out, bending over and picking things up.

Cravings: Fruity stuff!

Symptoms: The normal - peeing all the time, braxton hicks contractions all day. And my pubic bones HURT. It makes it super difficult to get up they hurt that bad. They've hurt most of my pregnancy, but it's def. getting worse!

Best Moment this week: Getting the stuff back from the place that embroidered the baby's name for me on some of his stuff!

I feel huge! :) Which basically I am. I think I'm about the same size I was when I delivered Lyla. Hopefully, I don't gain more than 50 lbs, because that's a lot of weight to get off! However, I don't feel like I'm as swollen as I was with Lyla. Here's to less than 5 weeks, hopefully and no more than 7! :)

July 1st

I can't believe it's July already!!! There is a slight, small, impossible, possibility that Baby Jay will be making this appearance this month! That's just crazy to me! :) I made a to-do list and it's much longer than what I was anticipating. We still need to get the swing out and cleaned up, the changing table needs to come up, and car seat installed. I was so excited with Lyla that her car seat was installed at like 31 weeks. Over eager parent right there. This time, I'm realizing I'd rather have the space in my Durango, while I can! I also have things I want to make him plus Big Sister shirts for Ly as well! I must find some motivation. I never nested with Lyla so maybe with this boy I will. This house could use a good cleaning! Only 38 days to go... :)

We'll we have a great weekend planned and I'm excited to have Sean home for 3 days! :) Next time he's off, it'll be because we have another baby!!!!

Happy 4th of July!

Birthday gifts

There is a super cute little girl that will be turning 2 soon and so I've been on the search for present ideas for her. And since we don't know when her little brother will be making his appearance, I'm wanting to get them all purchased and wrapped, asap.

I'm having a hard time deciding what I want to get the little princess. She's good in the clothes department and the shoe department but if I see something that is stinkn' cute I can't say no. We thought about getting her a bike, but she's still a bit young to me for that, so I'm thinking that's an Easter present idea or something. We have a bunch of things for her outside that I thought about an outdoor toy box. I'm just too indecisive!

I've wanted to get her a little apron and I've been big into vintage-y things lately so I'm loving this little apron for her!

And I love the ruffles on this one. I found both of these off pinterest. Are you on pinterest? If not you should be. Don't know what it is? Google it my friend. It's the BEST place to acquire ideas and then put them in different categories with links to come back to later. Loves it.

And I super love this one...but with a 2 year old, I'm thinking a full apron would be better. Maybe momma needs this? I'll thank you in advance, hubby! :)

Anyways, I'm not having much luck on finding something I love without spending a bunch just so Lyla can make a mess. And truth be told, I could probably make it, but if I add it to my list of things to make, Lyla will be 18 before it happens. And I may wait until Christmas since I won't be doing much baking (and truthfully I hardly bake, but maybe Lyla needs to so she can be the next Martha Stewart or Betty Crocker) in the next few months.

I also got one of her birthday presents embroidered today and I LOVE how it turned out. And she loves it too! Adorable, right? Now if only I wait until her birthday!

As far as other gifts, her big gift this year is going to be a DVD player for the car. I was pretty much against having one until she was older as I'm not a fan of TV for kids as a babysitter but she's becoming restless in the car and books and other toys are not holding her attention for long. So I've given in! It'll only be used when she starts to get restless and won't be turned on for short little rides. It'll also be helpful out at the lake when she wakes up and wants to watch "Me" (Mickey Mouse Clubhouse). So I'm also on the hunt for some DVD's for her. And lastly, I'm thinking a few new puzzles and she'll be set. I've also thought about an activity lapboard for her to color on and what not in the car. Now of course, I love buying gifts so who knows what she'll end up with! :)
